Responsibilities

* Design, develop, integrate third party components, test, install and support programs/systems.
* Analyze technical and functional requirements and translate them into software solutions. Understand dependencies toward other systems and teams.
* Conduct technical design and code reviews and walkthroughs with various teams.
* Evaluate and recommend technical feasibility and cost estimates of the proposed solutions.
* Prepare installation and operating procedures.
* Provide technical assistance to colleagues and assist in resolving problems reported by other team members.
* Develop and maintain technical documentation.
* Supporting the delivered software and being part of a 'Center of Expertise' problem solving team.
* Analyze support cases and, when appropriate,provide solutions following the established case management processes.
* Understand, debug and solve complex software issues related to performance, configuration, etc.
* Work with the COTS vendor to articulate problems and facilitate solution discussions.

Qualifications

Education:

* University degree in Information Technology/Computer Science or equivalent discipline.

Experience:

* 7+ years of experience in database related technologies RDBMS or NoSQL databases. Minimum 2 years in a lead role.
* 3 - 5 years of experience with Cassandra, DataStax, Java, Spark, Solr.
* Ability to create data models for Cassandra and familiarity with data modeling best practices.
* In depth knowledge of Cassandra read/write paths, replication factor and internal architecture.
* Experience in installing, configuring and monitoring DataStax Cassandra cluster.
* Experience with administration tools sstableloader, sstable2json, json2sstable, copy, etc. for application data loading and analysis.
* Experience with RHEL operating system and bash/shell scripting. RedHat Linux certification is a plus.
* Knowledge of distributed transactions principles and concepts.
