Database Developer - TS/SCI Required!!!! Located at Joint Base Anacostia - Bolling, Washington, DC
The Database Developer's primary responsibility will be to assist in the design, planning, and testing of new data storage and processing solutions, and to implement approved designs within a managed software development environment maintained at the government customer location. This position requires someone who is proactive and passionate about ensuring the quality of deliverables and can communicate with the development team members as required to achieve this effectively on tasks.

* Active DoD TS/SCI government clearance in JPAS * Requires a DoD 8570 IAT level II certification or higher. * 3 years of demonstrated experience in database development * Expert in SQL, NoSQL, working with relational databases * Strong knowledge of the following data engineering enabling tools and scripting languages: PostgreSQL, neo4j, Hive, Pig, Impala, Java, Python, C#, Scala, and NIFI. * Experience designing, optimizing and maintaining data management architectures, as well as developing custom solutions based on customer use cases and workflows. and building and optimizing Enhancement, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes * Ability to work with and communicate effectively in a team environment * May work individually or as a key member of a team; can lead projects when required. * Oversees and monitors performance across several disciplines, and when required, takes steps to resolve issues guidance * Provides expert guidance and direction to government and vendor senior level technicians and managers. * Create scripts to automate configuration and maintenance of databases including creation of fully configured database environments, data migration, monitoring, and release management. * Experience with database security concepts, including access, auditing, and encryption * Extensive experience in performance tuning, query optimization, replication techniques, clustering, authentication, partitioning * Agile software development experience * Experience maintaining data replication across disparate database platforms * Experience creating, working on, closing, and even escalating trouble tickets if required. * Anticipate system/application challenges and proposes solutions for the same.
* Maintain and potentially modify production database(s) which track production of OSO products and allow for review and analysis of production metrics. * Reviews and analyzes production metrics. * Produces reports as a result of this performance measurement. * Apply qualitative research methods to gain understanding of the requirements of internal and external customers and their utilization of products. * Data-mine and analyze open source information in support of OSO-related tasking. * Maintain user interfaces for databases, differentiating by users' supported customers and/or assigned offices/branches. * Conduct analysis to determine the relationship between customer acceptance of products and the demographic, linguistic, and other characteristics of the customer. * Maintain SharePoint portals utilized by Operational Support elements. * Produce metrics, metrics analysis, and related reports as a result of above tasks.
