Data Transformation Specialist

Work you'll do

The Data Transformation Specialist works closely with the Data Reconciliation specialist on each financial institutions data download. The Data Transformation Specialist participates in pre-closing and closing data gathering and data analysis- maps data from a financial institution's applications to applications- transforms data to standard formats- ensures data integrity and consistency is maintained in the conversion, processing and reporting of data from a failed financial institution- researches and resolves discrepancies- and creates and provides reports to the Data Reconciliation Specialist for review and distribution.

The Analytics & Cognitive team leverages the power of data, analytics, robotics, science and cognitive technologies to uncover hidden relationships from vast troves of data, generate insights, and inform decision-making. Together with the Strategy practice, our Strategy & Analytics portfolio helps clients transform their business by architecting organizational intelligence programs and differentiated strategies to win in their chosen markets.

Analytics & Cognitive will work with our clients to:

* Implement large-scale data ecosystems including data management, governance and the integration of structured and unstructured data to generate insights leveraging cloud-based platforms
* Leverage automation, cognitive and science-based techniques to manage data, predict scenarios and prescribe actions
* Drive operational efficiency by maintaining their data ecosystems, sourcing analytics expertise and providing As-a-Service offerings for continuous insights and improvements

Qualifications

Required:

* Six (6) or more years of progressive technical experience in data mapping,
* transformations, profiling, file conversions, analysis, and similar functions.
* Six (6) or more years of experience writing queries, developing stored procedures,
* creating views, and creating other database objects utilizing Microsoft SQL and/or Oracle PL/SQL.
* Three (3) years working in the financial services industry.
* Experience working on or supporting IT projects in the financial services industry.
* Substantial experience with data transformation and data analysis software commonly used in the industry.
* Knowledge of financial operations and procedures involving entering, modifying and correcting information in a computerized system to assure accuracy.
* Ability to develop, analyze and advise on improved methods to increase use of automated work procedures.
* Advanced skills writing SQL for querying and transforming data.
* Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications: Access, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
* Knowledge of a financial institution's applications sufficient to respond to requests for reports and data and to support the reconciliation process.
* Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or business-related field

* Ability to deal effectively and communicate with individuals at all levels.
* Ability to understand and execute oral and written communications.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Strong organizational skills
* Ability to work with both technical and functional resources
