About Americas Data Office (ADO)

Americas Data Office (ADO) is responsible for the implementation of the Group Data Strategy and resolution of data issues through strong divisional Data Stewardship, leveraging the Chief Data Office's (CDO) Data Principles, Policies and Tooling. The ADO ensures data requirements for the CUSO region are well understood by the Group Divisional Data councils, assignment of data accountability required for remediating data issues in the region are included in the Investment Governance process and any escalation of blockers to the Group Data Committee and the US Regulatory Remediation Program Steering Committees.

The Data Tooling Analyst is a regional role based in New York that sits within the Americas Data Office (ADO). Responsibilities include data preparation and web application development in support of the implementation, rollout and adoption of standard enterprise-wide platforms to capture data assets, and establish these platforms as data governance tools. Data platforms such as Collibra, Waltz, Solidatus, Data Quality Direct and others are used to manage key data assets like Reports and Model inventory, Critical Data Elements, Authoritative Sources, Data Lineage, Data Quality Management and reporting and controls.

Key Responsibilities:

* Work as part of a delivery team, collaborating with others to understand requirements, analyze and refine user stories, design solutions, implement and test solutions, and support solutions in production
* Writing queries, views and stored procedures to enable efficient access to data assets
* Update and maintain data model to accommodate new requirements
* Preparation of metadata and data required for linking and tracking data assets
* Analysis of metadata and data related to data assets
* Web based application development

You should have:

* Experience with technologies that store, transport and manipulate data, for example: relational databases, nosql, graph databases, Hadoop/HDFS, Pentaho and rapidminer
* Experience with database design and SQL programming
* Experience working in an agile team
* Have exposure to data analytics and can demonstrate the ability to manipulate data using data analytical tools
* Be able to think about information primarily from a data perspective
* Be familiar with industry developments and able to ensure their technical knowledge remains current for the role
* Tech-savvy with aptitude for learning new data technologies such as Big Data-related tooling
* Strong analytical skills; able to demonstrate out-of-the-box problem solving with enthusiastic 'can-do' attitude
* Experience in web based application development using python, nodejs and angular
* Inquisitive nature; able to ask pertinent questions that tease out issues and drive the analysis and decisions forward
* Have a strong internal customer focus
* Excellent communication, with proficiency in written and verbal English, with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and with impact across multiple levels in organization Understanding, knowledge and experience in data strategy, data governance, data management, data lineage, and data quality disciplines
* Experience of Banking processes, including; Risk and P&L, Financial and Regulatory Reporting, Trade Capture and Risk Reporting
