Responsibilities

Job Description: The Data Quality Lead has the overall responsibility of the Data testing success of specific projects within the Enterprise Quality Assurance. The Data Quality Lead will independently prepare and execute tests as well as manage all aspects of the testing effort, including plans, schedule, and tools. This candidate will work closely with various application owners & project managers in the NBCU to ensure that their applications are functioning properly. Candidate must have excellent statistical, analytical and problem-solving skills to help validate the implementation of applications against the data, functional and technical specifications and assist other team members through careful planning and test automation. This role will work with multiple Software Development projects.

Responsibilities:

The Data Quality Lead will:

* Analyze available data sets and databases and identify trends that support outcomes in collaboration with internal and external subject matter experts
* Design, develop and test solutions that support the business from an engineering perspective related to analytics metric development.
* Present findings to audiences of all technical abilities and effectively influence/generate and articulate data insights independently and in a team-based collaborative model
* Design and build reports and dashboards from available data that correspond to analysis
* Collaborate with organizational counterparts, understand data needs and share ownership of testing results.
* Be a thought leader and data evangelist. Lead by example and push for high quality data-driven decision-making throughout the projects by helping other teams develop good metrics and data analysis.
* Work in an Agile development environment
* Define Data Automation test plans and ensure successful implementation
* Implement the Enterprise Quality Assurance Automation processes, guidelines and best practices to bring in QA effectiveness
* Ensure standard methodology and procedures are followed
* Develop continuous automated & manual data testing of data sets.
* Work with other teams/ departments to ensure smooth QA delivery during entire test lifecycle
* Create and maintain Automation frameworks & scripts on Windows, Mac, Mobile & Web platforms
* Assign tasks to team members and review their key deliverables
* Communicate Data testing progress and summary metrics to the project team
* On call support during the non-working hours (including weeknights, weekends, and holidays)
* Drives the Data testing planning, tracking and reporting for assigned project(s).

Qualifications/Requirements

Knowledge and familiarity with various methods of statistical analysis and modeling, experience with R and/or Python preferred.

Strong Experience working on Datawarehousing platforms like Teradata or Oracle Exadata Machine or similar.

Demonstrated ability to create, adapt, and execute plans to unstructured and/or complex problems

Demonstrated ability to implement plans with a defined process, metrics, and desired outcomes to ensure strong focus and consistent execution

Demonstrated ability to perform in a metrics-driven, process-based environment with high accountability

Strong listening and comprehension skills, including the ability to identify underlying client needs and translate those needs into solutions

Strong communication skills

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies preferred

8+ years in a data quality engineering role preferably in Media, Tech, or Finance.

8+ years of extensive hands-on experience with SQL (preferably using T-SQL and SQL Server)

6+ years of experience with report generation tools (Excel, Crystal Reports, Power BI, Tableau, etc.)

Experience working on big data platform (Hadoop, Hive)

Experience in Media & Entertainment industry preferred

Experience in data test automation in DevOps context for Big Data platform in Agile project environment.

Hands-on Data Test Automation experience using open source tools like Python, Selenium etc.

Proficient with Jira, GIT and SVN toolset

Hands-on experience in multiple programming languages: Java, VBScript, Python (desirable)

Excellent knowledge of Internet/Web technologies, such as web browsers, Java, AJAX, HTTP, HTML/XML, AngularJS, JavaScript, CSS, XSL/XSLT, XPATH etc.

Knowledge of debugging, profiling, and data analysis on desktop, mobile devices & platforms

Knowledge of Snowflake datawarehousing preferable.

Ability to develop and manage all aspects of the testing effort, including plans, schedule, tools, and team members

Understanding of software development life cycle methodologies (particularly Agile). Hands-on experience with Agile/Scrum & Waterfall process environments

Ability to review test deliverables for completeness, quality, and compliance with established standards

Leading initiatives where teams were comprised of onshore and offshore resources

Excellent communication/presentation skills

Demonstrated experience successfully leading teams in a dynamic, fast time to market and customer focused environment.

Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of data testing methodology and best practices while maintaining and enforcing data quality standards.

Strong organizational skills, including the ability to respond quickly in a fast-paced environment

Able to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously to meet deadlines

Ability to work independently and manage the team in Agile environment, as needed.

Knowledge and familiarity with Media & Entertainment data preferable
