Role Overview:

The Data Engineer role is a foundational position within the group, with a focus on the information used across the firm, the processes that drive the information, data gathering techniques, master data management, and data analytics. Candidates should have an element of intra-preneurship. They will be expected to analyze and report on information in an accurate and timely manner. Qualified candidates will also be able to articulate the results clearly and concisely.

Responsibilities:

> Convert business questions to answers by supporting business application development and reporting

> Integrate data across the firm's platforms

> Clean, wrangle, analyze data to generate preliminary insights

> Enforce and automate data governance policies and procedures to ensure integrity across all databases

> Ingest data from both relational SQL and NoSQL databases

> Create data and model documentation

> Develop and maintain modelling pipeline

Qualifications:

We seek to hire individuals who are highly motivated, intelligent, and are proven self-starters. The successful candidate should have excellent communication skills, demonstrated analytical abilities, and a desire to work in a team environment. In addition, qualified candidates will possess the following:

> Undergraduate degree in a technical discipline (Math, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business/Data Analytics, or other hard sciences)

> 2 - 5 years of experience in data engineering

> Strong written, verbal and communication skills with the demonstrated ability to work with all levels within the organization

> Strong working knowledge of Excel

> Strong organizational, analytical, decision-making and problem solving skills;

> Demonstrated ability to work with accuracy and attention to detail

> Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple simultaneous priorities

> Proven ability to think end-to-end, connect moving parts, and anticipate/manage change impacts

> Familiarity with data management concepts

> Knowledge of higher level programming languages and techniques a plus
