Responsibilities

The Aerospace Corporation maintains corporate data centers across two locations in Chantilly, Virginia and El Segundo, California. Responsibilities include maintaining a roadmap for data center services, planning for sizing, developing a data center service strategy, and regulating capacity across data centers.

KEY FUNCTIONS:

* Oversight and management of corporate data center operations to meet established service level agreements and configuration control standards
* Ensure service level agreements and monitoring standards are being met and operating procedures are being followed
* Maintain an effective data center concept of operations plan
* Continually assess data center operations for evolving business needs to include new technology, cloud computing and more
* Faclilitate effective operation of all equipment through proper facility layout and equipment deployments within the data center
* Oversee data center budgets in conjunction with EIS Business Office
* Ensure data center monitoring solutions deliver proactive alerts and notifications
* Manage data center requests through close partnership with customers
* Resolve complex technical issues and drive innovation that improve system availability, resiliency, cost and performance.

Qualifications

Required

* 8 or more years IT Related experience in sustaining a data center service including serving as the liaison with Facilities and ensuring that systems in the data centers can meet their availability objectives
* Ability to develop positive working relationships and a strong rapport with team members.
* Experience with operating systems, hardware, orchestration, and basic LAN technologies.
* Extensive experience with incident and problem management.
* Experience with data center rack systems, wiring, cooling, and related technologies.
* Must have TS/SSBI clearance OR the have the ability to obtain one. This is issued by the US government and a US citizenship is required.

Preferred

* Associate's degree in engineering, computer science, computer information systems, or a related field.
* An effective communicator with the ability to interact with a wide variety of stakeholders.
* Must be detail oriented
