Job Description:

Description: The Manager, Data Architect is responsible for managing the Infrastructure Data Marts as well as managing all of the Data Architects that will be supporting the analytics system. This position is a highly technical, supervisory role not only responsible for managing the information system and support staff but also for leading the design and development of the system.

Typical Duties:

* Designs and guides the development of SQL Server reporting databases, data marts, and Measure Library to support data collection and data mining necessary for analytics and reporting.
* Designs and guides the development of data collection user interface applications to support Request Management, Reporting, and Improvement Project needs.
* Serves as an Informatics Advisor to business and clinical leaders to support understanding of standardized measurement indicators and benchmarks.
* Serves as a Coach for Data Analysts in departments across the organization and the Coordinator of a Reporting Users Group that meets regularly to communicate progress and share knowledge. Communicates and encourages best practices across the network.
* Management and maintenance of resource databases. Coordinate with Compliance, Accounting, Entity Operations and outside vendors to obtain all physician contracts, payment data, and external benchmark survey data routinely.
* Support Clinical Councils with service line operational and financial analytics providing reporting and outcomes as requested.
* Ad hoc analysis and reporting as needed
* Works with internal customers to capture requirements, design, create, document, manage and fulfill requests for on-going and/or ad-hoc reports, dashboards, and scorecards.
* Develops, implements and maintains front-end presentation (dashboards), automated report solutions and other BI solutions to support tactical and strategic reporting needs of the organization.
* Develops strong working relationships with vendor partners to ensure JPS is receiving optimal tools, support and enhancements.
* Self manages projects, tasks and timelines ensuring that approvals from leadership are obtained.
* Maintains an in-depth understanding of business intelligence principles and industry best practices and makes recommendations to gain efficiencies in reporting processes and infrastructure.
* Assists in identification of data integrity problems and recommends solutions.
* Manages direct reports by defining roles/responsibilities and expectations, assigns and communicates performance and promotes professional growth and accountability. Communicates and aligns work priorities with the organizational vision, mission, values, and service standards.
* Prioritizes, allocates staff and resources to accomplish assigned objectives within approved budget parameters.
* Recommends policies and standard operating procedures for the department.
* Performs other job related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience:
* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business, Healthcare or other related field from an accredited University.
* 5 plus years of experience in Healthcare related informatics, performance measurement, or analysis.
* 3 plus years of experience in designing and developing performance measurement data marts and automated reporting systems.
* 2 plus years of experience leading a team of programmers or technical analysts.
Preferred Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:
* Master's Degree in Computer Science, Business, Healthcare or other related field from an accredited University
* Lean Six Sigma certification
