Responsible for developing, modifying and/or maintaining applications in the Global Markets environment. Software developers design, code, test, debug and document programs as well as maintain corporate systems architecture. Employees work closely with business partners in defining requirements for system applications. Employees typically have in-depth knowledge of development tools and languages. Employees are expected to have in-depth global markets product knowledge, and manage a high level of risk. Is clearly recognized as a content expert by peers. Coordinates resources across various applications, operations or projects. Manages employees and makes all decisions on personnel actions including staffing, performance management and comp decision-making. Monitors progress and adjusts resources and priorities accordingly. Bank of America Enterprise Risk & Finance Technology (ERFT) is responsible for end-to-end technology solutions and support for the Chief Risk Officer and Chief Financial Officer organizations.

Role Overview:

Data Services are the tools and processes that manage and interact with data to orchestrate, source, transform, and make data available to consumers. This role requires an experienced and highly skilled software engineer to be part of the design and implementation of strategic data services for the Treasury group to standardize our capabilities and establish similar patterns across the broader organization. This role will work closely with business partners in defining requirements and implementing with a strategic mindset. Employees typically have in-depth knowledge of development tools, and languages. This is an individual contributor role. Typically requires 10-15 years of applicable experience. This job code is only to be used for Employees supporting Global Markets. This role will require you to:

* Develop tools and processes to support self-service data pipeline management
* Drive adoption of the these data tools to the broader organization
* Collaborate with partners across the organization to assess data needs and prioritize accordingly
* Identify additional strategic opportunities to evolve the data engineering practice

Required Skills:

* 10+ years of experience in data engineering or business intelligence
* Experience building production data pipelines using frameworks such Spark, Hive/Hadoop.
* Hands on experience with schema design and data modeling
* 10+ years of software development in a major language such as java or Python.
* Have a software engineering mindset and strive to write maintainable, and testable code
* Comfortable with a variety of tech stacks, and interested in performing proof of concepts on newer trends
* Strong SQL skills and knowledge and familiarity with other data stores such as Hadoop, data stores
* Experience with performance tuning data transformations across large data sets
* Experience with either commercial or open-source job scheduling tools
* Exceptional problem solving skills
* Excellent communication skills
* Experience mentoring and coaching more junior engineers

Desired Skills:

* BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering or other quantitative discipline
* Knowledge of financial concepts
* Knowledge of cloud or distributed computing
* Experience with Airflow
* Experience with BI Platforms such as MicroStrategy or Tableau
* Software development in an Agile environment
* Working experience with Git, Jira, Confluence
