OUR PROGRAM
The Stuart McClure, Founder, Executive Circle Summer Internship Program is an exclusive twelve-week opportunity, inviting interns across different disciplines to work along our senior team members and explore a career within the cybersecurity industry! Throughout the program, there are ample opportunities to participate in career development workshops, complete a meaningful resume-building project, network with the BlackBerry Cylance team, and more! Our internship program is structured to develop future thinkers, grant students access to A.I. industry leaders, and provide mentorship to eager students interested in the cybersecurity industry.
THE POSITION
BlackBerry Cylance is seeking a Cybersecurity Research & Intelligence Intern interested in Applied Research and gaining corporate knowledge in the cybersecurity industry. As a BlackBerry Cylance Summer Intern, you will take ownership of various projects and assisting the team to further department initiatives. Projects are subject to change based on department needs at time of the internship.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
* Research anti-exploitation capabilities for MS Windows, Apple macOS, and Linux to protect customers from zero-day exploits
* Reverse engineer zero-day exploits to perform root cause analysis
* Investigate new software products, platforms, and features to determine security impacts
* Develop new techniques for bypassing anti-exploitation mitigations in security products and evading security software
* Assist in day-to-day activities to help further department initiatives as directed by team mentors and/or management
* Work on a given project, as outlined by the manager and/or mentor at the beginning of the Internship program
* Attend all Internship program meetings, events, and career development workshops
* Create and present a final project at the program ending ceremony to managers, mentors, and peers
* Protect BlackBerry Cylance operations by keeping information confidential
* Perform other duties as assigned
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
* Student enrolled in an accredited university in their junior or senior year (preferred), pursuing a bachelor's degree
* Able to work full-time hours (40 hours a week) for the entire 12-week program
* Familiar with x86 and x86-64 assembly
* Proficient with C and Python
* Experience with low level debugging in WinDbg, or gdb, or lldb
* Proficient in IDA Pro
* Effective verbal and written communication skills
* Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including, but not limited to PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook programs to complete work on a daily basis
* Utilizes critical thinking and analytical skills on a regular basis to complete tasks
* Uses problem solving skills to overcome issues as needed
* Stays organized, while paying close attention to detail before submitting any work
