The Northwestern Medicine Cybersecurity Co-op presents a valuable opportunity for students interested in the growing field. This hands-on, paid opportunity will be located at our Chicago campus and will be a duration for at least 6 months. Participate in various development opportunities including shadowing other IT teams, attending leadership meetings and trainings.
The Cybersecurity Co-op's responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
* Uphold the mission, vision and values of Northwestern Medicine. * Successfully complete projects and work tasks assigned. * Develop working relationships with staff, management, and physician liaisons that allows for successful business interactions across all levels of the organization. * Full communication with department managers and staff in order to successfully transition work at close of internship. * Additional Functions, other duties as assigned.
In the Security Logging & Monitoring Team, you will be responsible for:
* Reviewing reports from security technologies to detect anomalies and initiate appropriate procedural response * Participating in incident response activities (help in incident response coordination from identification to recovery) * As part of team will provide feedbacks on tool or process improvements in order to strengthen the organization security posture * Create/improve supporting documentation related to specific use cases (play book) * Monitoring and initiating incident response procedure based on submissions to Spamreport inbox
Must be enrolled in an undergraduate (preferably entering junior or senior year) or graduate program with a major in Cyber Security / Information Security
