We are seeking a Cyber Software Engineer to join our team in the Springfield, VA area. The Cyber Software Engineer should have a working history with cyber, vulnerability research, networking, C, C++, Python, firmware, and RedHat/Unix operating system architectures.

The ideal Cyber Software Engineer should be self-motivated and strong in the execution of research and prototyping, capable of presenting research results and prototypes to both internal and external entities and expected to work independently to determine innovative approaches to research problems.

In this role, you will:

* Apply awareness of the software development cycle and order in which it is executed according to business requirements to incorporate security into standard Operating systems configuration and software development processes.
* Conduct activities, tactics, practices, techniques, and deliverables associated with writing and modifying programs that support cyber mission operations. Designs, codes, tests, deploys, and maintains complex program solutions, and maintains detailed documentation.
* Defines, develops, and verifies that the security relevant requirements are fully defined in the system test plan.
* Develop configurations, automation and tools for the deployment and integration of MLS systems (computation and storage), software, scheduling, and research applications.
* Develop configurations for System/Software on multiple system platforms and hardware to include but not limited to Red Hat (with SELinux policies enabled)

Basic Qualifications:

* Experience developing system software.
* Linux/UNIX user experience.
* Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5+ Administration and Configuration experience.
* Proficient in C, Python and Shell scripting.
* Experience with revision control software (such as CVS, SVN, Git).
* Experience with a variety of build/install tools.
* Ability to analyze, debug and maintain the integrity of an existing code base.
* System configuration and hardening skills.

Desired Skills:

* Experience with Trusted Multi-Level Security (MLS) Operating Systems, specifically RHEL5+ with SELinux enabled.
* Experience with Security Risk Management Framework (RMF).
* Fiber Channel (SAN and Direct Attach) Storage Array Administration Experience.
* Specific experience customizing SELinux (targeted or strict) policy for the purpose of hardening the OS and Software applications such as Apache and Oracle.
* Network Configuration.
* Good communication and people skills; good time management and organizational skills.
* Ability to work independently or in a team.

Experience in development for one or more of the following will set you apart:

* Containerization.
* Cloud computing.
* Automated testing.
* Continuous integration/continuous deployment.
* Rapid prototyping tools and techniques.
* IP networking.
