Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's of Science degree in Engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.

The successful Cyber Security Analyst must have:

* Hands on experience with command line UNIX/LINUX security audits
* Experience working with DoD classified IT system security configuration and processes is highly desirable
* Working knowledge technical knowledge of UNIX/LINUX and windows operating systems commands and utilities
* Well versed in IT government security accreditations and certification IAW DCID 6/3,ICD 503, NISPOM, NIST and other approved government IT security standards, policies and directives
* Strong experience with documenting test environments, requirements, results and POAM resolution
* A minimum of a IAT Level II (DoD 8570.1M) certification is required: e.g. GIAC Security Essentials - GSEC; CompTIA Security+ CE; Security Certified Network Professional - SCNP; Systems Security Certified Practitioner - SSCP

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires a minimum of an active TS/SCI clearance. Must be willing and able to obtain a polygraph within a reasonable amount of time after hire, with acceptable timing determined by manager. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) is looking for a Cyber Security Analyst to join our team to ensure that our applications and infrastructures are designed and implemented to the highest standards maintaining and enhancing customer trust. You will participate in security audits, risk analysis, vulnerability testing and security reviews on many cutting-edge systems.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:

The Cyber Security Analyst is a member of the Network Security team and performs technical activities for delivering effective host, network, data, and application security services. This position will have primary responsibility for security platforms in the production environment, as well as development, quality-assurance and staging environments.

The Cyber Security Analyst's responsibilities include security system deployments, configuration, monitoring and reporting. This position will have a key role in performing vulnerability assessments, security testing, and working with operations and development teams on remediation and mitigation of findings. The Cyber Security Analyst's primary role will be to provide support to planning, designing and implementing security controls which safeguard and monitor events for information systems, enterprise applications and data. In addition, s/he will:

* Analyze, troubleshoot, and investigate security-related, information systems' anomalies based on security platform reporting, network traffic, log files, host-based and automated security alerts
* Maintain, configure, and analyze network and host-based security platforms
* Conduct:
* Vulnerability scanning systems and tools
* Network-based Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS)
* Host-based Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems (HIDS/HIPS)
* File integrity verification and monitoring software
* Security Information & Event Management (SIEM) platform
* Application (Layer 7) Firewall
* Network Access Control (NAC)
* Data Loss Prevention (DLP)
* Log Indexing and Correlation platform
* Anti-virus and anti-spyware console
* Firewall and network access controls lists
* Web and E-mail proxy and filtering systems
* Physical access control systems


* Evaluate systems using vulnerability scanners and manual techniques to verify system security settings and configurations
* Provide reoccurring reports for network and host-based security solutions
* Provide CSIRT support as needed in response to information security related events
* Participate in continuous improvement processes
* Maintain and update relevant system and process documentation and develop ad-hoc reports as needed
* Assist the development of security tool requirements, trials, and evaluations, as well as security operation procedures and processes
* Establish and maintain a strong working relationship with all team members
* Provide off-hours support on an infrequent, but as needed basis
* Successfully manage time and technical responsibilities, set accurate expectations and meet deliverable deadlines while working in a team and information sharing environment
