The Department:

The Chicago office of Milliman Inc. is looking for enthusiastic and qualified candidates to join its Cyber Risk Solutions practice.

We are a growing practice focused on quantifying cyber risk. We are a hybrid business model of SaaS (Software as a Service) and risk management consulting. CRS is seeking consultants to assist with the development, marketing strategy, implementation and results analysis of our proprietary Adaero and CRisALIS cyber risk quantification models.

We are building a multi-disciplinary team of risk management consultants, data scientists and modelers to deliver data-driven, cyber risk management solutions and insights for corporate clients. We not only apply conventional frequency / severity methodologies, but also cognitive mapping, complexity theory and Bayesian nets to develop causal models.

Your Role/What You'll Do:

* Maintain two cyber risk quantification models
* Lead the enhancement effort for both models
* Make recommendations for model enhancements
* Work with Cyber experts to understand the market needs for cyber quantification
* Conduct research on modeling techniques and data sets for cyber
* Assist with data acquisition and data engineering, such as compromised records from the dark web
* Drive model implementation and configuration for clients
* Assist with the collection and analysis of client data sets
* Model validation, code reviews and documentation
* Assist with the administration and maintenance of backend systems
* Support the sales cycle, including go-to-market collateral and RFPs
* Assist with marketing efforts
* Serve clients in implementing both models
* Travel may be required depending on client needs

Your Qualifications:

Required:

* BA or BS in either STEM, Finance or Risk Management
* 5 - 10 years of modeling experience to including: financial models, risk models, structured scenario analysis, stress testing, and predictive models
* Created complex models in Excel, including VBA
* Basic knowledge of cybersecurity, IT infrastructure
* Proficient to strong in R and C#
* Big data technologies (Spark, Hadoop, Azure/AWS)
* AI, ML, Natural Language Processing and unstructured data
* Experience ensuring model accuracy, model validation and back-testing
* Experience with the SDLC as well as non-technical project management
* Ability to articulate and document business requirements
* Desire to thrive in a fast paced high growth group that is addressing the changing cyber demand of clients
* Integrate in a high-performing team and lead a small team and/or mentor junior colleagues
* Understands the consulting business model
* Managed teams and complex projects, including the budget
* Exhibits confidence when communicating with clients and internal stakeholders
* Ability to support thought leadership, including points of view (PoV), podcasts, go-to-market campaigns
* Ability to explain complex problems (technical, mathematical, etc.) to a non-quantitative audience
* Independent, self-starter, proactive, takes initiative
* Focus on quality and attention to detail
* Problem solver while practical in applying solutions
* Collaborative team player; supports and develops colleagues
* Good listener; demonstrates self-awareness; gives and receives feedback well

Desired:

* MSc or MBA preferred
* CFA, FRM, PRM a strong plus
