Responsibilities

Job Description:

The Technology Director is the primary technology and engineering point of contact for the customer and program office on this classified program. The Tech Director will be responsible for designing new and advanced technologies in support of proprietary customers. The candidate will lead multi-disciplined teams in defining solutions, being responsible for architecting and planning for these products through their research and development and implementation stages. The selected candidate will be expected to effectively present their work in program and Business Unit reviews and to provide expert counseling and mentoring. The selected candidate will work with the customer engineering leadership to define design requirements to validate and to verify that hardware and software being designed is compliant with requirements.

Additionally, the Technology Director will seek out and establish apprenticeships to enable a teaching culture within Raytheon IIS. The candidate of choice will encompass a history of design innovation validated by presentations and technical papers, serving as the expert through integration and qualification and leading Failure Investigation Teams in the resolution of complex production sustainment issues and / or sensor anomalies.

Interpersonal and presentation skills must be excellent given the expected level and frequency of customer interaction. As a technical leader within the business, extensive knowledge of classified customers, particularly as they relate to cyber capabilities, special missions' tradecraft and customer plans are necessary. Intimate and current knowledge of the government customer base and knowledge of the applicable industry base is critical.

Required Skills:

Minimum 15 years of experience in electrical, optical, and systems engineering.

Demonstrated ability to decompose a complex problem into an executable plan.

Demonstrated experience developing and presenting technical briefings to Customer and Senior leadership.

Demonstrated experience leading optical design trade studies and engineering efforts involving engineers across multiple disciplines.

Experience in Numerical Optimization Techniques, Analysis of Alternatives, or Design of Experiments.

Proficiency with scientific computing environments, models, and/or simulations such as the following: MATLAB, Simulink, MathCAD, AREPS, and NVIPM.

Demonstrated ability to develop a business strategic vision and execute changes.

Extensive proven credentials in the relevant government customer space.

Knowledge and experience of RF operations: Filtering, Pulse Compression, Calibration, and/or Antenna Array processing.

Knowledge of RF signal processing techniques, experience developing advanced mathematical algorithms, analytic techniques and computer simulations.

Current TS/SCI clearance, with willingness to take and pass a polygraph examination.

Desired Skills:

Possess a high degree of ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness.

Experience in machine learning, artificial intelligence, deep learning, convolutional neural networks

Communicate and collaborate with Program Management and Technical Leadership, Engineering Leadership, Manufacturing, Suppliers, and Customers.

Experience developing mathematical algorithms for RF signal processing and calibration.

Experience in the modeling and simulation of sensor physics and phenomenology to predict performance.

Experience designing and deploying cloud solutions using Amazon, Microsoft, IBM and/or Google cloud platforms

Experience in hardware and/or software development of embedded, real-time systems (e.g. FPGAs).

Technical publications and/or patents.
