Job Description

Overview

The foremost responsibility of a Senior Engineer - CSE POC is to support Proof-of-Concept (POC) testing in their designated technology area(s). You should be capable of configuring complex functions on the applicable Juniper and supporting platforms, have thorough knowledge of at least two test equipment vendors' products, and be able to translate solution architectures and customer test plans into functional environments meeting specified requirements. Advanced troubleshooting skills and knowledge of test plan development are required. Other tasks involve customer demonstrations, technical presentations, and user documentation.

Responsibilities

* Develop optimized proof-of-concept test configurations in response to Juniper-defined solution architectures or customer requirements, as appropriate.
* You work with CSE peers, CPO and SE Specialist teams to define and develop Reference Test Plans that validate key attributes and showcase Juniper solutions in the best light.
* You participate in the review, negotiation, and approval of proof-of-concept test plans submitted by account teams to meet customer requirements.
* Handle the allocated POC staging time to allow for test plan refinement, configuration adjustments, and resolution of hardware problems or software bugs.
* You provide timely issues to CSE POC management regarding risks to success.
* Support proof-of-concept visits by accounts teams, customers, and partners via thorough preparation, successful presentation, and management of all technical aspects of the POC.
* Maintain all POC test data on the appropriate documentation library.
* Develop technical papers based on customer testing experience.
* Design, develop, document and present guided demonstrations of new functionality, particularly for use within Juniper Cloud Labs.
* Maintain currency in one or more Juniper technology areas through technical training, regular review meaningful documentation, and hands-on reinforcement.
* Review and comment on NPI developments to CSE POC management and/or the appropriate product management team.
* Achieve and maintain JNCIP and JNCIE certifications.
* This position requires extensive hands-on lab work, excellent presentation and writing skills, the ability to travel, and customer awareness skills.

Minimum Qualifications

* BS in engineering/computer science/telecommunications with 4-8 years of experience in the networking industry or 12 years equivalent work experience.
* Advanced knowledge of test plan methodologies.
* Deep understanding of Juniper CLI and/or network management commands, virtualization, and automation tools for products in the selected technology area(s).
* Excellent presentation and technical writing skills.
* Creative assessment of network design solutions for the selected technology area(s).
* GUI proficiency and scripting knowledge for at least two test vendors used for testing of Juniper products in the selected technology area(s).
* Advanced knowledge of the majority of the protocols and architectures used in the selected technology area(s).
* Advanced troubleshooting skills.
