The Contractor Program Security Officer (CPSO) provides support to MITRE's Industrial Security Program for the execution of security requirements for a multi-tasked program in a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF). The CPSO will independently determine and develop approaches to risk-based and cost-effective security solutions while ensuring compliance to the NISPOM, Intelligence Community Directives (ICD) and amplifying sponsor security regulations and instructions.

This position will coordinate and deliver security support to a multi-faceted program and act as a liaison between project staff, MITRE security management, and program management to sustain security requirements. Incumbent candidate will possess the knowledge and experience for the following primary responsibilities:

* Using security knowledge of various security disciplines (i.e. physical, safeguarding, Information Security, and classification management, etc.) to determine, apply, monitor and ensure appropriate security requirements are executed for the work programs. Identify and recommend long and short-range security goals, to include corrective action approaches that enable the business while still ensuring compliance.
* Develop, review, coordinate, and execute Program Security and accreditation documentation to include Fixed Facility Checklist (FFCs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Emergency Action Plans (EAPs), and Co-Uses
* Utilize extensive knowledge of government security policies, procedures, and regulations to include NISPOM, Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs) and Security Executive Agent Directives (SEADs); to establish procedures to protect, process, and control all classified material (hard copy and electronic media). Manage incoming/outgoing classified material
* Implement the management and training for SCI cleared employees commensurate to the level of classified program information they are accessing in support of MITRE's work programs. It is critical that incumbent create and deliver informative local area, annual refresher and courier briefings
* Develop and conduct clear and concise assessments, corrective action plans, policies, procedures, and reports. This includes investigations of security incidents to determine the potential for compromise of program information, conducting government required self-inspections to ensure compliance with sponsor regulations and reduce security risks, and daily SCIF inspections and report and remediate anomalous occurrences

Candidate will be able to successfully:

* Liaise with sponsor security staff to ensure program security policies and procedures follow company and customer requirements.
* Establish and maintain effective communications with customers, security staff, program leads, and departments management
* Coordinate closely with company management by providing regular status updates regarding new security requirements, issues, etc.
* Possess ability to self-initiate, know what needs to be done and when, and follow through on all open actions.
* Assist other security staff with special projects as required
* Share knowledge and lessons learned with other security staff

Additional duties include:

* Assisting with escorting, which may require after hours support
* Managing alarm system and provide/coordinate after-hours alarm support
* Assisting the local COMSEC account manager for COMSEC policy implementation
* Assisting with coordination and support of classified conferences and provide visitor management support and badging

Security Clearance: Top Secret/SCI

Required Experience:

* 10+ years of contractor or government program security experience supporting SCI programs.
* Extensive knowledge of security manuals, directives, and Executive Orders to include, NISPOM and its amplifying directives (DCIDs, ICDs, Sponsor Instruction, etc.).
* Excellent problem-solving skills
* Possess exceptional customer service skills
* Ability to communicate clearly with all levels of management and government
* -Excellent writing skills
* Confident using Microsoft Office products
* Current/Active TS/SCI and SSBI; willing and able to pass a polygraph

Preferred Experience:

* Experience supporting SCI programs
* Knowledge of Intelligence Community
* Experience as the CPSO for a SCIF/SAPF
