Professional Services Consultant

As an F5 Professional Service Consultant you will work with the F5 product portfolio to automate/orchestrate common deployment tasks and architect cloud deployment strategies utilizing technologies such as Jenkins, Ansible, GitHub/GitLab, OpenStack, Puppet, Chef, Azure, AWS and Google Cloud.

In addition, you will concentrate on engineering solutions that focus on application security, extending common WAF defensive strategies, including DoS and BOT mitigation.

You will be a leader with vision, providing strategic mentorship and domain expertise to customers regarding implementation and configuration of F5 products, focusing specifically on cloud technologies, automation strategies and security solutions. Your immediate team will consist of like-minded individuals supporting each other thru innovation, teamwork, and mutual thirst for knowledge.

Prior F5 experience not necessary but nice to have.

What are your responsibilities?

* Understand the DevOps and NetOps mindset and be able to apply such methodologies to customer requirements by building repeatable, programmatically consumable and referenceable solutions
* Be a trusted advisor providing technical expertise through guidance, during customer onsite and/or remote engagements, focusing on the implementation, configuration and maintenance of the F5 product suite
* Perform as main architect, project lead and/or key contributor for systems, solution design, deployment, testing, problem identification, troubleshooting and documentation
* Maintain working proficiency in F5 products as well as other relevant technologies through formal training and community interaction

It is helpful for candidates to have knowledge & experience with any of the following:

* Understanding of technologies such as firewalling, application availability and security, authentication/authorization, encryption, VPN's and network architecture
* Ability to articulate and transfer complex ideas to a wide audience through both verbal and written communication
* Strong written communication, presentation writing and user documentation skills
* Jenkins, Ansible, Chef, Puppet
* Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker, OpenStack
* L7 WAF and related security concepts
* DoS and BOT mitigation techniques
* Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform, VMware NSX/ESX, Cisco ACI
* HTTP, HTML, XML, JSON, AJAX, and JavaScript, RESTful API
* Linux, UNIX, Kali Linux
* Unix Shell, Perl, Python, C, C++, C#
* Web Technologies: Java, JSP, PHP, .NET, Node.js
* DevOps, NetOps concepts

How do you qualify:

* Hold BS/BA degree or equivalent work experience
* Provide at least five years of meaningful experience, with a focus on architecture and design of public or private cloud infrastructure, network systems or relevant automation strategies including performance and management of such systems
* Bring at least 2 years of experience in customer-facing positions as a professional services consultant or engineer
