The Connected Technologies Technology Specialist role supports customer acquisition and retention within our Building Technology & Solutions business at Johnson Controls. Due to the growth of our Connected Technologies (CT) & Building Wide System Integration (BWSI) business, we are seeking seasoned technology-focused and project-oriented specialists to assist with developing and delivering network and low voltage system projects for large commercial buildings.

In this role, you will deliver projects for commercial buildings within these industries: healthcare, transportation/airports, government, schools, sports & entertainment venues, mixed-use developments, and more. You will support operations teams, subcontractors, and vendors, working closely with our customers, while serving as a technical expert. You will provide the technical expertise and leadership for the project delivery on large, complex, high-risk projects. We're looking for experienced building technology professionals to make an immediate impact on this critical component of our growing building technology business.

How you will do it

Under general supervision, the Connected Technologies Technology Specialist (CTTS), will be responsible for the successful execution of assigned Building Wide Systems Integration (BWSI) & Advanced Solutions scope of work. The successful candidate ensures that assigned projects are executed in alignment with the contract scope of work, the project schedule, and within and/or below the project budget. Additional duties include assurance that all work performed is in compliance with state, local and federal laws, codes and legal requirements all while maintaining nothing but highest of level of ethics in performing their duties. Fully understands, adheres to and ensures that all Johnson Controls personnel and our subcontractors comply with all JCI safety standards and policies.

Qualifications:

* Associates Degree or Technical Certifications in one or more of the following: Computer Science, Network Engineering, Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
* Minimum of five years of direct technical project management experience in the areas of BMS, fire alarm systems, security systems, or IT networking.
* Direct installation management of low voltage systems including BMS, Sec/Fire, cabling infrastructure, IT networks (MAN, WAN, LAN WLAN) architecture and IT based integration in both construction and owner direct retrofit projects is desired.
* Direct experience with Software House, Genetec, Vidiant, and American Dynamics is desired for security role.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills, customer interface skills, documentation and organization skills, process oriented, problem solving, and the ability to be a highly effective team member is required.
* Significant travel required.
