Job Description

ASRC Federal InuTeq's focus is on technical and complex, mission-oriented services with contracts supporting federal government agencies. Our team of scientists and professional management personnel allows us to bring real-world experience to meet the growing demand for solutions to some of the most complex problems in IT management, aviation, and Earth and space sciences. We are seeking a Configuration Management Specialist II to support a NASA contract in Greenbelt, MD.

Responsibilities:

* Work in a team environment to provide Configuration Management (CM) support to the Earth Science Data Information System (ESDIS) Project, implementing CM processes that support the sustainment of the project managed spacecraft instruments.
* Assist in the review and approval of Configuration Change Requests (CCRs), tracking CCR action items, and releasing updated documentation.
* Assist with coordinating, recording/documenting activities of the Configuration Control Board (CCB).
* Assist with tracking implementation of approved CCRs and report CCR status as requested.
* Support the administration of Project requirements, configuration change control and configuration management, as required.
* Assist in interfacing with contractors/providers regarding CM related issues and concerns.
* Manage associated data and database in support of the configuration management system and processes.
* Maintain and update, as required, the project File Plan, and attend Records Management meetings.
* Assist with the review of Center Directives.
* Perform internal audits of the CM Office to comply with GSFC management system requirements.
* Prepare for and support assessments and audits, as required.
* Maintain detailed knowledge of required compliance documentation including Goddard Procedures and Guidelines (GPR)-1410.2 and 400-Procedures and Guidelines (PG)-1410.2.1A.

Requirements:

* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
* Experience with the ESDIS Configuration Management EOSDIS Tool (COMET) is required.
* Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, and demonstrated analytical skills.
* Ability to work independently but also as a team player in a fast-paced environment.
* Interface successfully with Project personnel and technical leads as well as personnel at varying levels of management.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills as well as the ability to manage time and meet the many reporting deadlines.
* Ability to follow specific directions and ask questions as needed.
* Must demonstrate experience developing, documenting, and implementing processes and procedures.
* Individual must meet government NAC and citizenship/permanent residency requirements for access to NASA GSFC. Extensive background investigation will be performed as a requirement of the job.

Education and Experience:

* Bachelor's Degree and two years of related experience or three years of experience in lieu of a college degree.
