Description

SAIC is looking for a Configuration Management Analyst to join the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) team in Washington, DC.

Job Description

Develops and maintains software configuration management tools and processes to support configuration identification, control, reporting, and delivery of both hardware infrastructure systems and software. Performs configuration management tasks to ensure new configuration item product operating parameters are documented, comply with standard hardware configurations, and are logistically sustainable.

* · Develops configuration standards for department-wide use.
* · Analyzes configuration issues and propose appropriate resolutions.
* · Maintains data quality, integrity and security of CM database.
* · Schedules audits on CM database and assists in implementing audit recommendations.
* · Develops security guidelines to avoid unauthorized damage or usage of project items.
* · Trains platform systems administrators and engineers in the use of configuration management tools and the implementation of configuration management standards.
* · Provides support to project teams in configuring and baselining project items.
* · Prepares configuration documentation and maintain Configuration Management database (CMDB).
* · Reviews and recommends improvements to existing CM processes.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

* Bachelor's degree in a related field plus at least 2 years Configuration Management experience or 6 years equivalent Configuration Management experience
* Demonstrated expertise in Configuration Management processes; Ability to define manageable CM processes
* Experience in developing system architecture diagrams
* Experience developing process documents, work instructions and reports
* Good Analysis skills: Ability to evaluate the current environment, gather needs, and propose a recommended CM solution
* Good Design/architect skills: Ability to define and design CM standards
* Excellent Customer service and communication skills: Ability to work graciously with users while resolving their issues
* Strong Training and facilitation skills: Ability to prepare CM technology and process training for users and the ability to deliver the training effectively

Desired Skills and Experience

* Experience with ServiceNow CMDB and Asset Manager
* ITIL certification
* Experience with Change, Release, Problem, Incident and SLA management processes

Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance
