Job Overview:

The Program Manager Communications Systems (PM CS) is responsible for the production, fielding, life cycle support, sustainment, and enhancement/refresh of programs under his cognizance. The PM is also responsible for establishing near and long-term strategic planning that ensures CS assets maximize interoperability and mission effectiveness; implement timely, affordable technical improvements; and guard against premature obsolescence. The PM is also responsible for providing material solutions for urgent warfighting requirements. The PM staff (Assistant PMs for Contracts, Engineering, Financial Manager, Logistics, Program Management) directly support the PM, Deputy PM, and program teams and coordinate with the Portfolio Manager Command Element Systems (PfM CES) Milestone Assessment Team (MAT)/Assistant PfMs.

The PM Comms program teams lead the Marine Corps efforts in the research and development, acquisition and sustainment of tactical ground communication systems.

Kingfisher is actively seeking to fill a vacancy for a Configuration Management Analyst on the PM CS staff.

Job Description:

The Configuration Management (CM) Analyst will be responsible for establishing and maintaining consistency of a products performance, functional and physical attributes with its requirements, design and operational information throughout its life. The CM Analyst should be knowledgeable and experienced in establishing and managing processes leading to the following five CM disciplines:

* CM Planning and Management: documenting and planning the CM program;
* Configuration Identification: uniquely identifying the functional and physical characteristics of an item;
* Configuration Change Management: controlling changes to a product using a systematic change process;
* Configuration Status Accounting: capturing and maintaining metadata about the configuration of an item throughout the life cycle;
* Configuration Verification and Audit: ensuring product design is accurately documented and achieves agreed-upon performance requirements.

Responsibilities include:

* Work with other members of the integrated product team (IPT), including program engineers and logisticians
* Effectively communicate system configuration status to program management
* Review contracts and draft configuration plans to encompass all specification requirements
* Maintain and enforce configuration management policies and procedures
* Review design release documents to ensure correct configuration modifications
* Develop supporting documentation for Engineering Change Reviews and Configuration Control Boards, including agendas, briefs, and meeting minutes
* Assist in the maintenance of configuration data repositories
* Participate in program related meetings, as necessary

Job Requirements:

* Have DAWIA Level 1 equivalency in Engineering, Life Cycle Logistics, or Program Management; or at minimum, the following DAU course must be completed: ACQ 101 Fundamentals of Systems Acquisition Management; and LOG 204 Configuration Management
* Experience: 2-5 years
* Education: BS
* Excellent Writing skills
* Above average facility with MS Office programs

Desired Skills:

* Have DAWIA Level 2 equivalency in Engineering, Life Cycle Logistics, or Program Management
* Advanced computer skills with MS Office programs and/or MS Project
* Prior working knowledge of configuration management with Marine Corps Systems Command

Minimum Security Clearance level: Secret

Work Location: Stafford, VA
