We are seeking a creative and highly-motivated postdoctoral associate in Computational Scientist to join our study and analysis of single-cell genomic data. The Regev lab is a dynamic, multi-disciplinary group that develops the technologies and computational algorithms and analytics needed to decipher the transcriptional circuits that control gene expression and cell phenotype within cells and tissues. As a pioneer in the development and application of experimental and computational methods for high-throughput single-cell RNA sequencing, we are focused on understanding single cell-level gene expression changes in response to internal and external perturbations, in both normal physiology and in disease. The ideal candidate will have an interdisciplinary background in bioinformatics/computational biology and mammalian physiology, and will have made significant contributions to their area of study as evidenced by a strong publication record in internationally-recognized,peer-reviewed journals.
REQUIREMENTS
● A Ph.D. in computational biology, computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics, or related field
● Proficiency at programing in a modern programing language (e.g. Python), with knowledge of R/MATLAB
● Extensive experience with data analysis as demonstrated in published work.
● Proficiency in effective use of data structures and techniques for processing and manipulation of large-scale sparse and dense data-sets
● In-depth knowledge of statistical methods and/or machine learning methodologies
● Demonstrated applied bioinformatics/computational proficiency as evidenced by relevant publications in internationally-recognized, peer-reviewed journals
● Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with all levels of staff and with external contacts in a fast paced environment required
