Commercial Insurance Middle Markets Delivery Lead

Commercial Insurance Middle Market (CIMM) is a large business division within Chubb North America. The Information Technology group supporting Commercial Insurance Middle Markets (CIMM) has an opening for a Delivery Lead with SAFe Agile experience as a Release Train Engineer. Chubb CIMM is leading a digital transformation program migrating a large portion of its business onto a modern web front end with the Duck Creek policy administration system on the backend. This program is a critical part of CIMM's digital transformation.

The CIMM Delivery Lead (this role) will be responsible for leading end-to-end technology development & delivery of new insurance products & capabilities enabling new business opportunities and operational efficiencies on Duck Creek Policy Underwriting & Admin Platform utilizing SAFe Agile methodology across Chubb North America. This role is also responsible for all integrations and interfaces upstream as well as downstream supporting business objectives of multiple divisions of Chubb.

This role will require the candidate to work with a portfolio of globally distributed agile teams to deliver business benefits such as speed to market with high quality deliverables at a lower cost while delivering business value.

This senior role will be a partner to the business on defining product strategy, tactical execution plans and drive technology decisions to ensure optimum business results as well as lead a team of internal service providers and vendors to ensure both Duck Creek Product and CIMM Solution deliverables are in place for the achievement of business success.

This role requires thought leadership, change orientation, seamless execution, strong relationship management and effective communication capabilities.

This role will be a partner with business architecture and enterprise architecture team to define optimum application and solution architecture to meet current and future underwriting and policy admin platform needs.

Scope/Responsibilities

* Lead end-to-end delivery for development and implementation of new insurance products, packages on Chubb's Duck Creek Platform.
* Lead business case development, large program/project estimations with resources from multiple departments and shared services from across the Chubb enterprise. The departments include underwriting, actuary, business operations, field operations, business architecture, enterprise architecture, infrastructure, information security etc.
* Lead a group of both CIMM scrum masters and scrum masters from other Chubb IT groups to drive delivery both products and solutions across the CIMM portfolio and across workstreams in Chubb
* Build internal expertise on Duck Creek Platform working with HR, vendor partners and personal relationships in the industry.
* Train existing employees interested in advancing their careers, hire college graduates, train them on necessary tools and processes to enable the next generation workforce to become self-sufficient working on the Duck Creek Platform
* Drive projects/programs to align on schedules, resources and budgets as needed for an on time, on budget delivery and to identify and resolve barriers to drive orchestrated execution.
* Communicate regularly in accordance with agreed upon communications plan.
* Prepare and deliver formal presentations on project and status for business and technology leadership.
* Enable transition from an iterative waterfall to an agile-based operating model.
* Determine the right sourcing model depending on the type of project/program, and manage SOW contractual commitments with vendor partners.
* Partner with Risk, Compliance and Security to align with standards, policies and procedures.
* Manage and deliver development projects within the allocated budget partnering with finance to ensure appropriate accounting treatment of costs.

Location:

This position is primarily located in Whitehouse Station, NJ but requires travel to other Chubb office locations on an as needed basis.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

* Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or another related field. Business Administration (MBA) is preferred.
* At least 12 years of experience in managing multiple, concurrent medium to large cross-functional teams or programs.
* At least 10 years with insurance background required; experience in Commercial lines platform/systems implementation of Duck Creek Policy is required
* At least 3-4 years of experience on Duck Creek Policy Platform (v6.x preferred) delivering insurance products and capabilities for multiple lines of business
* Deep knowledge of commercial insurance products and operational processes is required; expertise in assessing internal and external data needs to meet underwriting guidelines is required
* Experience in enabling agile transformation/implementation in medium to large projects/programs is required.
* Hands on knowledge of Duck Creek Policy v6.x, Duck Creek Author, SQL Server etc.
* At least 5-10 years of hands on experience in technology stack such as Microsoft.Net, Java, ASP.NET, IIS, SQL Server, HTML, XML, CSS, XSLT etc.
* Good knowledge of Data & Analytics technologies such as Data Lakes, Business Intelligence Tools, Predictive Models, 3rd Party Data.
* Good knowledge of Microservices & API Mgmt., Java Script Frameworks such as Angular, Cloud Platforms such as Microsoft Azure is preferred.
* Ability to motivate team members and effectively delegate responsibilities to ensure timely delivery.
* Strong vendor management and vendor relationships experience to continuously understand how the tooling and services marketplace will evolve.
* Strong analytical skills and influence skills to achieve results.
* Proven ability to manage to multi-million-dollar budgets.
* Excellent written/verbal/presentation skills; ability to effectively communicate across all levels is required.
* Strong ability to identify, understand and communicate business needs and complex technical concepts in simple, concise and crisp manner to technical and non-technical audiences.
