Job Description

The Systems Analyst II has primary responsibilities focused on supporting various processes in the IT Service Management (ITSM) Department such as Software Asset Management, Asset Management and Configuration Management Database (CMDB). This person is recognized as having knowledge in IT Service Management and IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) or International Association of IT Asset Managers (IAITAM) best practices, processes and developing cost effective solutions that will benefit organizational needs. The Systems Analyst II bridges the gap between the business needs of the customer and technology through facilitating new process design and continual process improvements.

The essential duties of the Systems Analyst II include the following:

* Facilitate the business' needs for ongoing technical support and upgrade protection on selected products by ensuring that maintenance, support and upgrade protection renewals are managed/handled/ordered in advance of their expiration.
* Identify savings opportunities for renewals, software licensing and services.
* Manage contracts and relationships to maximize value creation and costs for software licensing, maintenance, and service offerings.
* Collect information for budgeting, software compliance & inventory, contract summaries, and cost comparisons.
* Applying the CMDB process within the organization, working closely with process leads to ensure that Configuration Item attributes and relationship specific information can be gathered and disseminated using efficient and consistently followed processes.
* Facilitate periodic configuration audits to verify the configuration of controlled items.
* Ensure and maintain the integrity of the CMDB data.
* Partner with various stakeholders to approve or gather requirements and develop strategically aligned proposed designs; including: mock-ups, use cases, process scenarios and process flow diagrams within the context of company standards and industry best practices
* Tests and implements enhancements and major upgrades to supported ITSM applications
* Develop training materials and deliver training to end users
* Develops and maintains IT Service Management policies, processes and procedures
* Conduct regular communications (verbal and written) with IS and Business resources at all levels
* Fulfills requests for help, special reports/queries, error diagnosis & resolution and other requests for assistance from end users
* Uses in-depth knowledge of business and industry to assess current systems, practices or procedures, identify areas of opportunity and develop strategic recommendations to address those opportunity areas resulting in technical or business solutions that are cost effective and meet business requirements.

The ideal Systems Analyst II will also have experience or knowledge with the following skills and tools:

* Vendor Management / Supplier and Supply Chain experience
* Subject matter expert in the life cycle of Software Asset Management and IT Asset Management
* IT Asset Management and Discovery Tools experience
* License compliance experience
* Knowledge of the ITIL process of Configuration Management (CMDB) and basic knowledge of the other processes.
* Must have basic knowledge of IT Infrastructure components and/or technology.
* Strong critical thinking and analytical skills, processing skills preferred
* Task oriented and good organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities
* Innovative by introducing new ideas and process improvement opportunities
* Customer service focused
* Excellent communication skills, both orally and written
* Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to work collaboratively both internally and with other departments

The ideal Systems Analyst II will also have the following education or certification(s):

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
* 4+ years of related work experience required
* ITIL v3 / 2011 Foundations or solid understanding of ITIL processes preferred
* Certified Software Asset Manager (CSAM) preferred
* Certified IT Asset Manager (CITAM) preferred
* Certified ServiceNow Administrator (Kingston+)
