The Cloud Systems Engineer will focus on moving existing on-premise, solutions to the cloud as well as engineering new solutions with a cloud-first approach. As our use of the cloud continues to increase and becomes more complex, this dedicated position will serve as the primary resource for critical IT initiatives.

Responsibilities

* Work closely with Application Development, Cloud, Governance, and Security teams to help formulate and implement a strategy for cloud including developing frameworks and internal standards and governing policies and procedures
* Develop and maintain a balanced cloud governance framework based on industry standards
* Ensure compliance with industry and internal standards for cloud based security
* Develop cloud migration paths for our existing on-premise systems
* Develop and implement standards and best practices as it relates to cloud solutions
* Organize collaborative discussions with department stakeholders to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment, security, and high availability in the cloud
* Implement automation techniques to maximize efficiencies of our cloud based systems
* Work with Production Control to configure and manage system monitoring and alerts for our cloud infrastructure
* Develop and maintain documentation on our cloud solution business continuity
* Develop cloud practices, define and measure security-related activities, and demonstrating improvements to the cloud programs within the organization.
* Evaluate business requirements, and user needs, existing usage cloud platforms, technical capabilities, and overall cloud application maturity, and provide guidance and best-practices based recommendations for implementing governance boards and proven best practices for cloud based application/platform development, deployment, and support.
* Consult with stakeholders on requirements for new and existing business/technology solutions. Partner with GIT's Architecture, Security and
* Development organizations to determine and implement innovative solutions to address technical and business needs.

Qualifications

* Bachelor's Degree
* 7+ years of experience
* 3+ years of experience in Cloud computing
* Strong understanding of cloud computing capabilities and limitations, business drivers, virtualization technologies, Infrastructure as a Service, Platform as a Service and Software as a Service Cloud delivery models
* On-premise vs Cloud analysis methods and best practices
* Thorough understanding of system and infrastructure management in the Cloud environment (Windows & Linux servers, firewalls, load balancers, hypervisors, storage, monitoring, security etc.)
* Basic understanding of and/or ability to solution service offerings across multiple tiers
* Ability to support automation efforts with scripting skills, ideally JSON, YAML, Python, HTML, etc.
* Superior organization, project management skills and attention to detail
* Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, team environment
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally
* Demonstrated decision making and problem-solving skills
* Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
