Cloud System Admin

VHBs corporate IT department is looking for an energetic and self-driven individual to join our network infrastructure team supporting core IT infrastructure and data centers. The candidate will work with the team and regional IT service staffs to provide remote system administration support across VHBs 26 regional offices. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years demonstrated experience with Microsoft Windows servers, and good knowledge of cloud technologies specialized in Azure. The position will be responsible for the day-to-day administration, performance, and tuning, of mission-critical services deployed using the above technologies. The position will be based from our headquarter office located in Watertown MA, but the successful candidate should have the ability to travel to regional offices on occasion.

Responsibilities

* Design and deploy Azure infrastructure enterprise level projects in cloud environments for hosting business application services
* Working closely with GIS and application teams to ensure requirements are reflected appropriately in the Azure design
* Windows Server and Active Directory/ on-prem and Azure AD administration
* Account provisioning and administration
* Maintain network shares and security permissions
* Build, deploy and troubleshoot system hardware and software
* Maintain enterprise storage, automated backup, recovery, and fail-over routines

Desired Attributes

* High proficiency with Microsoft Azure cloud technology and administration
* Good knowledge with enterprise storage and NAS technology such as NFS, CIFS, LACP
* Good knowledge and experience with Windows Server OS with an understanding of security permissions and group policy for Active Directory.
* Good knowledge of TCP/IP and Windows Networking such as DHCP, DNS
* Understanding enterprise-level data backup and replication process
* General understanding server infrastructure management and monitoring solutions such as Microsoft SCOM and SCCM will be a plus
* Flexible hours based on project requirement
* Ability to diagnose, research and solve problems independently

* Excellent interpersonal oral and written communication skills
* An ability to prioritize, organize and handle multiple tasks carefully and accurately
* An ability to work independently and as part of a team
* A strong desire to learn new technology and disciplines quickly
* Experience with Active Directory, Azure, VMWare, Netapp, preferred

Qualifications

* Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Marketing Information Systems, or similar, preferred
* 5 years demonstrated experience with Microsoft Windows servers, and good knowledge of cloud technologies specialized in Azure
* Experience in the Architecture/Engineering/Construction Industry a plus
