The Senior Software Engineer codes software applications based on business requirements. The Senior Software Engineer work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

Responsibilities

Be a part of Humana's Digital Heath & Analytics organization -- Be in a challenging, high-impact position. Work in close collaboration with our data engineering and data science teams to develop and automate large scale, mission critical, cloud native and on-prem infrastructure and deployment solutions where you have the flexibility and autonomy to implement within quick turnaround times.

Required Qualifications

* Proven software development experience (C#, Java, C++ or Python) delivering and supporting effective solutions is a must
* Hands-on experience working on any major cloud platform
* Hands-on operational experience administering Linux systems
* Experience with Docker, Kubernetes or Mesos in an operational environment
* Experience with production database management and optimization at scale
* Intellectual curiosity and a tenacious appetite for troubleshooting is required
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Proven consultative and client relationships management skills
* Collaborative - will share information, best practices and experiences with others and will be willing to embrace new and innovative ideas.
* BA/BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience



Preferred Qualifications

* Azure certification
* Experience developing ARM templates, CloudFormation templates or Terraform
* Prior hands-on experience in a Python development environment
* Prior experience with Hadoop and/or Spark
* Experience within healthcare industry and healthcare data
* Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field
