Seeking a Cloud DevOps Engineer with a passion to push Internet-of-Things technologies to their limits to establish new solutions for device access, status and control. Will need to collaborate with our team of talented engineers to design and build the next generation of our cloud-operated products.

Essential Functions:

* Convert system-level user-stories into the core components, frameworks, architecture, messages, and storage definitions that establish the core requirements for cloud-based systems.
* Design, build, configure, and maintain AWS cloud operations for IoT accessories under the control of custom and partner mobile APPs.
* Create automated infrastructures within AWS, including package management, application load and configuration, and systems monitoring and administration.
* Participate in creating, building and safely deploying APIs, web services, and micro-services.
* Develop, test, debug and release software to AWS in support of a variety of products with concurrent deployment of user-specific and brand-specific targets.
* Track industry trends and maintain knowledge of new technologies to better serve the enterprise's cloud architecture needs.
* Assist in the development and management of an architecture governance process.
* Review and improve the performance of cloud applications and infrastructure.
* Capably interact in a team environment and work with engineering staff to achieve the best possible products from all functional viewpoints.

Education:

BS/MS: Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, STEM or similar.

Experience / Skills Required:

* 3+ years of architecting, administering or developing in AWS using DevOps methodologies.
* Experience in developing and/or deploying serverless or container managed solutions.
* Experience using IaC tools - Terraform or Cloudformation
* Experience using CI/CD tools such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet and Jenkins
* Knowledge of industry tools including Git, GitHub, BitBucket, and JIRA.
* Proven knowledge of software lifecycle and software engineering methodology.
* Proven understanding of cloud security, controls and the tools.
* Deep understanding of implementation intricacies of secure and scalable back-end and front-end APIs in cloud-based environments.
* Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
* Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Strong DevOps on-prem background and be able to relate to AWS toolset.
* Ability to adapt and practice AWS well architected guidelines.
* Proficiency in Python, Ruby, JavaScript/Node.js, Java, lua, or Go.
* Working knowledge with various databases, including of RDS, SQL and NoSQL.
* Application or server-side development of cloud-connected IoT-based systems.


* Past implementations using cloud-to-cloud interfaces, HomeKit over WiFi, HomePod, Alexa skills, Siri voice, IFTTT or Google Home.


* Certified AWS Certified Solution Architect, SysOps or Developer is a plus.
