Job Description

Responsibilities will include working in a team environment on the development of various components of the catastrophe computer-based risk models for the U.S. and international countries; developing software applications for research, testing, and automation; reviewing and interpreting observed data to validate models; and providing internal and RMS client technical support for the models developed. Additional responsibilities will be on software implementation testing and QA; designing, developing, and executing test plans for RMS's enterprise software products. A successful candidate will work closely with a broad range of development teams, in a dynamic and business driven environment.

Skills and Experience Required:

To be successful in the role, you must have the following required skills:

* PhD or MSc in Mathematics, Science, or Engineering from a top university.
* Two or more years experience in the development or testing of probabilistic risk models preferred
* Excellent programming (R, C++/C#, Java, etc.) and problem-solving skills. High level of proficiency in data analysis, data manipulation, and process automation.
* Experience in developing scientific software applications
* Good knowledge of probability and statistics
* Ability to work on multiple projects and the ability to work well in a team environment.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
