Job Description:

Cobb Systems Group is seeking a very technical Business Systems Analyst whose main function is to perform the analysis and specification of software services. This a long-term contract position with a prestigious client in the finance sector located in Rockville, MD. Corp-to-Corp contractors are welcome to apply.

Note that CSG's hiring process is rigorous but our contractors remain in their assignments for years on average as a result. We have multiple positions available.

Key Responsibilities:

* Ability to analyze complex situations and problems and do the necessary research using multiple sources of information to arrive at innovative solutions.
* Analyze large data sets to gain an understanding of the data and develop software integration specifications.
* Document key business processes, technical requirements and data transformations.
* Maintain relationships with business and technical staff across the enterprise to understand data requirements and usage patterns.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required.
* 5+ years of professional experience as a business systems analyst working with software development teams in an agile environment.
* Strong understanding of logical, physical and conceptual data models.
* Advanced skills developing SQL queries.
* Mastery of Excel.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Able to elicit requirements from business users and convey them clearly to technology teams.
* Experience with data profiling, cleansing and transformation and ability to create and explain data scenarios or transformations.

Plus Skills and Qualifications:

* Experience with big data, Hadoop, NoSQL databases.
* Experience specifying REST service calls architectures.
