Job Description

Argonne National Laboratory is looking for a talented Business Systems Analyst to join the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCF) team.

The OCF Business Systems Analyst is responsible for supporting and maintaining cognizance of ANL financial systems and associated tools, applications, and interfaces through business analysis, specification, testing, installation, maintenance, and operations. This role analyzes, modifies, and enhances systems to support the financial system's day-to-day operational needs and functions. The OCF Business Systems Analyst utilizes systems knowledge to support laboratory funding, project set up, as well as other needs. The incumbent will participate in the planning and implementation of proposed recommendations and system changes, test and validate new releases or enhancements to systems, and train and assist end users on system functionality.

A successful candidate would have the ability to excel in a team-oriented environment and provide ongoing process improvement suggestions for financial systems and processes.

Position Requirements

Required Knowledge, Skills & Experiences:

* Knowledge of policies and procedures for financial management.
* Experience developing and supporting financial and/or business systems.
* Knowledge of databases, including internal logic, functionality, and process relationships.
* Knowledge of Microsoft applications with a focus on Excel.
* Ability to develop and troubleshoot simple queries, analyze data, and report.
* Organizational skills, ingenuity, and creativity, and the ability to solve problem.
* Skill in setting work priorities, handling multiple assignments for multiple people, and time management.
* Ability to coordinate tasks and projects and collaborate with others to complete them.
* Flexibility and adaptability to new procedures and technology.
* Interpersonal skills and ability to interact with the internal team.
* Skill in communicating effectively, orally and in writing.
* Steward of Lab resources.
* Passion for the mission of the Lab.
* Ability to model Argonne's Core Values: Impact, Safety, Respect, Integrity, and Teamwork.
* Ability to work with data at a high level including Excel and pivot tables is desired.
* Experience with variance analysis and reporting is preferred.
* Prior experience supporting a financial system is preferred.
* Prior experience supporting Workday Financials, is highly preferred.
* A BA degree in computer systems is preferred.

This role is being posted at two levels (PA1 and PA2). Final level will be determined based on the final candidate's level of education, experience, and skill.

* PA1 requires Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience.
* PA2 requires Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience plus 2+ years of applicable experience.
