We are seeking an experienced a Business Objects Engineer to join a diverse team providing software and systems engineering. This role will coordinate multiple simultaneous software development project efforts and define best practices and standards. This position will be a client facing Business Objects Engineer who has a grounding in IT, ranging from development through operations and infrastructure, including Cloud. The position requires extensive involvement on-site with clients as well as multiple contractor teams. The environment consists of data platform containing administrative management data from structure sources including, but not limited to, human resources, facilities, identity management, and budget. The scope of this work includes connecting the existing Business Intelligence and Data Visualization software to the new data platform and revising the existing BIIS reporting content to properly work using the migrated data in the new platform. Processes used to ingest and integrate data into the new platform.

Required Qualifications

Responsibilities/Duties:

* Ability to apply consulting experience and skills in analysis, design, and early development of complex systems using SAP Business Objects to provide our client oversight of modernization and sustainment of high availability enterprise applications.
* Participate in requirements definition meetings and requirements documentation activities
* Analyze customer requirements.
* Design and build best-of-class interactions between Business Objects and internal systems
* Define and implement security interfaces between BO and Medidata-specific security constructs
* Test systems for security, scalability and stability
* Enhance and increase Business Objects SDK skills
* Increase and expand Amazon Web Services SDK skills
* Interact with Technical and Business teams to design, build and support complex reporting systems
* Load and transform real time data into analytics environments
* Contribute and work with various open source projects
* Build tools to make our infrastructure more accessible for our engineers and data analysts
* Help migrate business users and engineers from our traditional data-warehouse stack to our big data-warehouse infrastructure in the cloud
* Multidisciplinary work supporting reporting services, analytics pipelines and data warehouses
* Performance analysis and capacity planning for our growing clusters

Required Skills:

* 6+ years of Government contracting experience working with development teams and projects
* Strong experience with the Business Objects SDK for Java
* Experience interacting with security subsystems, including oAuth and LDAP
* Experience with Java development
* Experience with common Object-oriented design patterns as applied to Java
* Embrace the DevOps deployment mindset
* Design and implementation of APIs and services to expose the data and abstract the tools
* Relational Databases and persistence layers
* Experience with IT projects that include Agile development and Cloud-based solutions
* Experience in creating architecture and design documentation and knowledge of data engineering tools & technologies
* Resourceful and creative in solving problems and overcoming obstacles
* Attention to detail and highly organized

Education / Certification Requirements:

* BS in Computer Science or a related Information Technology field
* Agile related certifications (e.g., CSM, PMI-ACP) highly desired
* EPLC experience
* ETL experience

Clearance Requirements:

* Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Level 5 security clearance.
