Job Description

Position Summary: The Business Intelligence Administrator will be responsible for software installation/patching/upgrades, capacity planning, and performance management, security, and maintenance/administration tasks for Business Intelligence (BI) servers and tools in a 24x7 environment. While the position will initially be heavily focused on Cognos Administration, candidates will be expected to learn SSIS, Margin Minder, Tableau, SQL Server and other tools we utilize in order to provide same functions. This role will also be responsible for ongoing upkeep of and adherence to development standards in relation to use of the tools, team onboarding checklists, and disaster recovery and business continuity documentation and processes.

Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:

* Responsible for BI tool design, installation/patching, maintenance, administration, and support of tools (primarily on Windows/Azure) to maximize performance and availability in a 24x7 environment
* Develop and maintain Active Directory based security models, usage monitoring/reporting, error alerting/monitoring, and other reporting that provide proactive insights into the health of the BI tools / servers
* Responsible for maintaining environment diagrams, development standards, and team onboarding documents and checklists
* Responsible for defining processes to support administering accounts
* Assist operations and developers with troubleshooting as needed
* Represent the BI team w/ regard to Change Management and Change Board Activities
* Responsible for debugging, monitoring, and troubleshooting Cognos reports and cubes
* Administration of TM1 Server
* Liaison with Infrastructure Team for capacity planning and provisioning of new servers/environments
* Assist with risk and issue identification and resolution
* Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity documentation, playbook, and checklists
* Develop Infrastructure as Code strategy for team w/ regards to managing and provisioning computing infrastructure
* Other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Experience:

* 4-year degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or in a related discipline
* 3+ Years of hands-on working experience in BI / Data warehousing projects and methodology
* 1+ Years of hands-on experience as Cognos BI administrator
* Ability to quickly learn new technologies
* Ability to identify and drive continuous improvements
* Experience with disaster recovery planning and execution
* Strong communication skills
* Strong customer service skills and the ability to interact well with business users
* Strong written and verbal skills
* Strong problem solving and analytical skills
* Strong SQL skills
* This position must pass a post-offer background and drug test

Preferred Skills and Experience:

* Experience working with Cognos TM1, SDK, and Analytics
* Experience in PowerShell scripting
* Administration skills in Clustered, Load-Balanced Windows/Azure environments
* Experience with Margin Minder and other reporting tools like Tableau
* Experience with SSIS or other ETL / Data Integration tools
* Experience in Java a plus
* Experience with Decision Stream a plus
* Experience with Azure SQL, DW, ADF, and ADLS a plus
* Experience with Automation tools such as Orchestrator
