Job Description

Provide expert level technical support and oversight of the new TranZform DWH. Build out and maintain Emblem's Business Intelligence Environment to best support analytical functions and projects. Ensure that best practices are maintained in the development, enhancement, and maintenance of the company's data structures. Provide business analysis, data analysis, project management, and BI development support. Work with various business and functional areas to determine and meet data and technology needs. Ensure that BI design has optimal design, usability, repeatability for scale, and maintainability.

Responsibilities:

* Serve as Emblem's representative within the larger Business Intelligence track for the TranZform DWH.
* Work with CTS and EXL partners to help develop the BI/presentation layer of the new Data Warehouse.
* Create and foster relationships with power users and management; partner up with leaders to enhance the analytic capabilities of the DWH.
* Champion best practice for EmblemHealth.
* Work with business areas to collect reporting requirements and bring best practices and emerging analytics to the Enterprise BI presentation layer.
* Build out Data Mart structures, create reporting wireframes, coordinate build efforts with staff and consultants, opine on the BI presentation layer build and maintenance, create reports/cubes/dashboards, and participate in various Data governance exercises.
* Become an expert on enterprise-approved Business intelligence tools such as Tableau, SAS, Cognos. Be willing to learn, adopt, and champion newer tools such as Big Data applications (Cloudera and the entire stack of tools) and open-source analytical tools (R, Python, Apache Spark…).
* Build out and execute project plans related to BI-DWH projects. Report to management on progress, barriers, risks. Coordinate staff and external consultant teams.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Business, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, or a related field required
* Project Management Certification, preferable
* Recognized BI certifications preferable (TDWI, Oracle, SAS…)
* Minimum 5+ years of Business Analysis, Systems Analysis, and/or Analytical experience in a healthcare payer setting required
* Minimum of 3+ years hands-on experience with Enterprise BI Tools and design (Tableau, SAS, Cognos, …) required
* Excellent business requirements gathering skills. Experience working with management and building relationships and trust with data users required
* Broad familiarity with core Healthcare Payer data including claims, membership, provider, contracting, clinical, marketing, and other payer data domains. Understanding of Audit, financial reporting, and regulatory needs and requirements within a healthcare payer setting required
* Experience handling large amounts of healthcare payer data required
* Working knowledge of the SAS Enterprise Business Intelligence (EBI) platform and Tableau Reporting System preferred
* Familiarity with advanced predictive analytics and Data Science techniques to support payer analytics: Data Mining, Forecasting, Predictive modeling (via R, Python, SAS) preferred
* Experience in Project Scoping, Process-Design, formal Business Analysis (CBAP) activities, and Project Management (PMP) preferred
* Strong business analysis, data management, and project management skills required
* Demonstrated effective BI development experience, especially in a health payer setting preferred
* Industry level expertise on new and emerging technology, processes, products, and techniques preferred
* Ability to build relationships with different functional/business areas, and to integrate efforts with our consulting partners required
