What you'll do on a typical day:

* Work as a member of the Business Excellence team, providing Level I Business Intelligence (BI) support for all Managed Transportation accounts
* Generate, maintain and ensure the accuracy of BI for various business lines as part of the overall enterprise business analytics dashboards on PowerBI.com
* Develop and optimize reporting tools through modeling, simulation and analysis
* Build and troubleshoot reporting and BI tools as part of a leveraged team servicing internal and external customers
* Design and implement data solutions and solicit feedback on operational impact
* Provide key decision makers with the real-time capability to view the financial performance of their business and other critical metrics; ensure the user interface for Power BI, system communication, design and implementation are on target and supporting the business
* Maintain work stream using the following tools: SQL, SSMS, SSIS, SSRS, MDX, DAX and MDS to support the overall BI environment
* Review and recommend changes for the operational feasibility of BI and reporting tools by evaluating analyses, requirements, system constraints, solutions development and proposed solutions
* Complete ad hoc reporting and complex modeling analysis to support partners in a multifunctional matrix environment
* Support key business partners with implementing process improvements, modeling, reporting and analysis; understand current technology stack and solution capabilities to apply process enhancements to current manual processes

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you'll need:

* Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Finance or STEM field
* Some background education in Computer Science or Engineering
* 3 years of advanced to expert level development experience in Microsoft Power BI
* 2 years of development experience with SQL

It'd be great if you also have:

* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
* Experience with Oracle Transportation Management (OTM) system
* 3 years of experience in BI, with some exposure to finance-related areas
* Experience in relational data modeling, T-SQL and SSIS
* Exposure to Microsoft SSAS and data warehouse design
* Ability to identify opportunities to increase accuracy and optimize resources; ability to develop, recommend and implement solutions
* Strong time and project management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize workloads
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to present clean, organized and thorough information and data appropriate for intended audience
