Summary

This Business Analyst position is an integral member of the Filmed Entertainment technology, Home Entertainment IT team responsible for supporting the Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain, Technical Operations and Digital Distribution teams of the Home Entertainment business.

The primary role of the Business Analyst is to act as a liaison between business partners and IT Teams, supporting the solution delivery lifecycle for the suite of Home Entertainment application portfolio under the direction of the Technology Manger, Business Engagement.

The Business Analyst will join a team consisting of high-performing individuals that execute on a broad range of activities, including elicitation and scoping, requirements analysis, systems analysis, functional architecture, interface architecture, and knowledge management. This role is expected to be proactive and work as part of a team alongside developers, support consultants, IT infrastructure, vendors and different business verticals to adequately support the business and maintain proper alignment.

Responsibilities / Skills

* Act as a business liaison between IT and the Home Entertainment Business Community to understand business requirements for system updates and translate requests into functional design specifications
* Perform as the subject matter expert (SME) for the business domain and conduct knowledge transfer with the testing and development teams
* Serve as the primary point of contact for regular production support activities including issue analysis, documentation & prioritization, defect management and testing
* Responsible for managing the releases of the Home Entertainment's release, material and BOM management tool which is on the Salesforce platform. Responsible for coordinating the resources to manage development, testing and support for this application. This role will be the technical owner of this application and responsible for performing root cause analysis of business issues and questions which may arise.
* Independently conduct and drive business requirements and design related discussions and workshops based on business needs and objectives
* Responsible for understanding, reviewing, analyzing and evaluating business partner needs
* Partner with other business units to identify, document and implement integrations to other sources of company data in order to expand visibility of the business across the organization
* Create design specifications using use case format, workflows, wireframes, modeling and related methods as needed
* Collaborate with technical teams to provide input on technical solutions and support end to end solution delivery
* Recommends solutions and ensures business needs are met
* Create and execute test scripts to support change request and defect verification including user acceptance testing support
* Build effective relationships within a matrixed organization with other IT teams and Home Entertainment contacts within business units to support change request solution design & testing
* Interact with key shared services groups within the organization to provide requirements to the development and support team including Salesforce, SAP, Tibco, Analytics, and Data Warehouse
* Participate in change management activities to support the successful business adoption of new IT solutions
* Create training documentation for new system enhancements and conduct user training sessions/demos to support knowledge transfer and user adoption of system updates
* Leverage established NBCU processes, methodologies and associated practices, while carrying out his/her responsibilities.
* The role is also very strategic as it is a customer-facing function where the BA relationship with the business is critical.
* Research and evaluate new technology tools to support larger scale system enhancements including but not limited to data visualization tools and data discovery and analysis platforms
* Perform rapid analysis and decomposition of complex business information into technical process components
* Perform root cause analysis and provide next steps for resolution

Qualifications/Requirements

Minimum of 2 years of solid hands on experience with Salesforce.com

Minimum of 5 years of client facing and business systems analysis experience

Minimum of 5 years in application development and SDLC

Strong analytical and problem solving skills able to identify flexible and forward thinking IT solutions

Experience leading the analysis, extracting and documenting business requirements, and testing on projects, system enhancements and defects

Deep understanding of IT project management SDLC processes and methodologies, such as Waterfall, Agile Scrum and associated best practices, leveraging tools such as JIRA

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related fields.

Experience with Salesforce Lightning components

Experience documenting and executing test cases from user stories and requirements documents.

Experience using defect tracking and change management processes, metrics and tools

Demonstrated track record of developing excellent relationship with key business partners and stakeholders

Proven experience completing assigned tasks on multiple projects with tight deadlines successfully

Desired Characteristics

SalesForce Admin Certification

Experience with Media/Entertainment

Experience with Jira and Smartsheet

Experience with user experience and wireframe/mockup creation

Experience with business intelligence and analytical tools

Experience with data architecture, data warehouse and middleware/ETL tools and technologies

Has worked within a project team over multiple geographic / international locations.
