About the Opportunity

Digital Management, LLC (DMI) is seeking a full time Business Analyst to join our web application development team in support of our Federal Government Client in Washington, D.C. The Business Analyst Engineer will be responsible for soliciting, documenting, analyzing, verifying, validating, and managing the requirements of product stakeholders, including product owners, end users, and the development team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Work with the application business owners and subject matter experts to document application vision and scope within the context of the overall Enterprise IT management strategy
* Solicit requirements using interviews, documents, storyboards, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, and task and workflow analysis
* Write requirements specifications according to standard templates, using natural language simply, clearly, unambiguously, and concisely
* Decompose high-level user requirements into functional requirements
* Lead requirements analysis and verification, ensuring that requirement statements are complete, consistent, concise, comprehensible, traceable, feasible, unambiguous, and verifiable, and that they conform to standards
* Compose test scripts and lead user acceptance testing of applications
* Participate in requirements prioritization
* Enter, manipulate, and report on requirements using project management tracking software
* Establish and implement effective requirements practices, including use and continuous improvement of a requirements process
* Assist with the development of the organization's requirements engineering policies, procedures, and tools
* Implement ways to reuse requirements across software applications

Qualifications

Education and Years of Experience:

* Bachelor's degree
* Five years of business analysis experience within software development teams

Required Skills/Certifications:

* Excellent analytical skills needed to critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a more general understanding, distinguish presented user requests from the underlying true needs, and distinguish solution ideas from requirements.
* Excellent communication skills needed to interact with stakeholders of various levels of technical knowledge, to conduct requirements solicitation, and to translate solutions proposed by the development team.
* Strong understanding of software Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum
* Strong experience creating user stories and acceptance criteria to express customer requirements
* Exceptional presentation skills and confidence in dealing with senior business stakeholders
* Experience with testing practices such as functional testing, user acceptance testing, and automated acceptance testing

Desired Skills/Certifications:

* Experience with ASP.NET software development teams
* Experience with SharePoint software development teams
* Experience with ServiceNow development teams
* Experience with Agile project management software such as Jira or Team Foundation Server.
