Job Description

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Director of Customer Solutions Engineering, this high profile role is the liaison between colleagues with business needs, colleagues with solution design expertise and the technology team members who are responsible for creating the solutions to meet those needs. The BA understands the strategic direction of Signify Health and how the technology influences the overall strategy of the enterprise.

The Business Analyst works with individuals across Signify Health to analyze, re-engineer and/or contribute to the development of technical solutions for complex processes. As a member of one or more scrum teams, the BA partners with Technical Product Managers, Engineers, QA, and BI in an agile solution development environment. The BA also collaborates with Customer Success, Strategic Product Management, Finance, Operations, and Production to translate business requirements into functional requirements and technical specifications.

The BA is a role model for effective communication, facilitation, and engagement, leading the extraction and documentation of requirements that contribute to technical solutions that drive the organization's value proposition forward. The BA leads or co-leads mid-sized to complex projects that may cross multiple applications, scrum teams, and business units. The Business Analyst will elicit, define, and communicate business requirements, assist in creating project roadmaps, maintain project plans, develop user personas and conduct and analyze user feedback and surveys.

Qualifications: Education/Licensing Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in finance, analytics, information systems or related field required
* Certification in business analysis, business systems analysis, project management, or process management preferred

Experience Requirements:

* 4+ years of Business Analyst, Business Systems Analyst or similar experience as detailed above in the responsibilities section of this job description
* 2+ years' experience working within the healthcare industry, specifically working with health plans or medical groups
* 2+ years' experience working with any government healthcare program (e.g. CMS, Medicare, Medicaid, etc.) preferred, but not required
* Understanding and experience with product development life cycle processes and methodologies

* Fluently speak, read, and write English
* Experience working with healthcare data, including claims, membership / attribution files, clinical and quality data preferred
* Ability to work on complex problems / projects where analysis of situations or data requires an in depth evaluation of multiple factors
* Demonstrated experience managing complex projects with cross functional stakeholders to meet deadlines
* Ability to exercise significant independent judgment within broadly defined policies and practices to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives
* Leadership and / or expertise in driving cross-functional initiatives
* Ability to represent the organization to external customers / clients
* inclination to take ownership of assigned projects and independently drive for results

Essential Job Responsibilities:

INVESTIGATION & COLLABORATION

* Conduct research to develop thorough understanding of internal and external business needs
* Lead full project discovery that includes interviewing relevant stakeholders and end-users;
* Facilitate meetings with stakeholders to present findings and gain agreement for solutions and project execution
* Collaborate with project team members in providing recommendations related to the most effective, highest quality, most appropriate solution; utilize conflict management and alternative resolution skills in negotiating agreement among all parties
* Demonstrate superb decision making skills by engaging experts while determining alternatives

DOCUMENTATION & COMMUNICATION

* Support clarity and completeness of business requirements
* Support accuracy and completeness of delivery estimates
* Utilize corporate standards and tools to capture business requirements, functional and non-functional requirements, use cases, process flows and activity diagrams for technical and non-technical audiences; Package requirements specific to each parties' needs;
* Generate detailed user requirements supported by narratives, work catalog summary, use cases/diagrams, process flows & business modeling
* Facilitate understanding of requirements for technical team members to execute for development and testing; verify that business and functional requirements are reflected in solution specifications and are testable
* Apply principles of project management and maintain project plans, roadmaps and other documents to communicate progress and status toward deadlines
* Generate meeting agendas, minutes and action plans as appropriate
* Communicate assimilated requirements and specifications in standard formats that are useful to business area experts and technical colleagues
* Verify business and functional requirements are traceable to solution specifications
* Verify business and functional requirements are testable

* Fulfill responsibilities within an evolving agile environment
* Apply knowledge of theory and principles of project management
* Manage highly visible and complex project assignments; distill project status and progress for audiences at multiple levels including clients, sales and senior management
* Combine industry expertise with a thorough understanding of information technology to develop innovative business solutions and positively influence the strategic thinking of the team
* Promote customer satisfaction and quality customer service
* Develop and maintain internal and external relationships to manage scope, schedule and expectations
* Collaborate with project team members to identify problems and opportunities within existing processes
* Utilize process analysis/design expertise to design new or reengineer existing processes to implement new or changed procedures, eliminate duplicate effort, reduce errors and increase efficiency and effectiveness
* Accept and provide appropriate feedback on opportunities for improvement
* Support continuous improvement of personal work approach and deliverables along with those of the team

Additional Job Responsibilities:

* Participate in staff meetings, conference calls and other meetings, as needed
* Complete reports as requested by Customer Success team
