BMS Consultant

The Building Management System Engineer will be responsible for supporting and managing the firm's UPS, HVAC monitoring, building management systems, video management systems, and security device monitoring platform.

The Building Management System Engineer will be part of the infrastructure technology organization, leveraging operations best practices to deliver a consistent and high quality level of service to its clients (such as security operations, compliance, back office, facility management). This role primarily entails the administration of software-based solutions and the management of the infrastructure, the ability to communicate effectively with external vendors and internal stakeholders, and requires a working knowledge of building management systems and corresponding standard operating procedures.

Principal Responsibilities

* Lead the management and administration of building management systems and its infrastructure ecosystems (server configuration, network administration, access management, etc.)
* Service request fulfilment and execution that meets or exceeds expected service levels
* Lead end-to-end incident management and change management activities for the building management systems
* Maintain 100% accuracy of asset inventories in the firms tools
* Schedule and coordinate initiative with the firms internal clients, infrastructure peers, and Multi-Vendor Services (MVS) partner
* Own technical projects and drive them to successful completion, including requirements gathering, engineering, deployment, and ongoing support
* Participate in 7x24x365 support for the company's Infrastructure Operations as necessary, some late night and weekend work may be required

Qualifications/Skills Required

* 2+ years of experience in building managements operation, maintenance and engineering
* Minimum of Bachelor's degree in a technical field (ideally in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering) is required
* Working knowledge of HVAC systems, PDU and energy monitoring technologies, video management systems, network video recorder, building security solutions and monitoring, biometric reader solutions and monitoring
* Demonstrated experience and skill in troubleshooting and performance tuning hardware and OS
* System administrator knowledge of Unix and Windows
* Scripting skills (one or more of bash, Ruby, Python) is a plus but not required
* Excellent inter-personal skills required to work closely with business partners, engineering, operations and vendors
* Strong analytical thinking skills with a "customer first" service oriented mindset
* Quick learner, detail oriented; demonstrable thoroughness and strong ownership of work
* Good team player with a strong willingness to participate and help others
* Able to prioritize in a fast moving, high pressure, constantly changing environment; high sense of urgency
* Financial services experience is preferred but not required
