The Job

The Broadcast & IT Manager provides technical oversight and staff management within a 24x7x365 news, production and/or master control environment. Manages and coaches a highly skilled technical staff in support of supporting major on-air and post-production activities, being accountable for both individual and team performance with a focus on providing excellent customer service. The incumbent will join a team that maintains a full broadcast plant and broadcast chain for the major CNN News networks as well as the technical facilities of other Turner Entertainment Networks. Successful delivery of enterprise-wide broadcast/IT support requires one to foster a collaborative working relationship with key stakeholders and in partnership with subject matter experts who may be local or across cities to meet the needs of a large base of customers. Incumbent in this job will have fully mastered the skills, knowledge, and competencies necessary to perform all levels of broadcast technology support, including baseline business acumen around managing project budgets.

The Day-to-Day

* Works across the Broadcast Engineering/IT team, and will also leverage professional colleagues across Turner to support the facility
* Meet with professional colleagues, other technology partners and clients to understand their needs and translate their business and/or support requirements into technology solutions
* Attend customer meetings and be a visible face of NY BEST Engineering
* Incumbent in this job will have fully mastered the skills, knowledge, and competencies necessary to perform all levels of broadcast technology support, including baseline business acumen around managing project budgets
* Report to and work with the Directors, NY BEST Engineering on high levels of operational broadcast technology decisions
* Manage between 3-12 employees directly, but will collaborate with peers to manage work, processes and people across the entire team

The Essentials

* Typically 6 or more years experience in radio and or television, including trouble shooting, maintenance and repair of TV, radio equipment, satellite, production servers and studio systems; dubbing and quality control
* Typically four or more years in supervision of support staff
* Bachelor's degree in electronics, computer science or a related field; or equivalent education/experience
* At least one year as a Project Manager or similarly recognized senior/leadership role
* Must be willing to work shifts and be on call for coverage of critical technical systems as well as high profile programming event
* Ability for occasional travel
* Willingness to learn all Turner proprietary equipment and applications
* Strong customer service and interpersonal skills with ability to interface all levels of management and user community
* Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential
* Strong attention to detail
* A strong sense of urgency [and follow through] in solving customer requests to ensure timely resolution is critical
