HMC is in search of an experienced BIM Content Leader. This position is open to candidate preference in one of the following HMC Office locations: Ontario, California Corporate office and Los Angeles Design Studio Studio.
Summary
The BIM Manager will elevate HMCs level of BIM maturity and focus on constant improvement,
development, standardization, support and education to drive efficiency, increased productivity and
innovation. The BIM Manager is a member of HMC's BIM Team, led by the BIM Director.
Minimum Requirements:
Education: Bachelors degree in Architecture, Engineering and/or Interior Design.
Experience: Minimum of 10 years experience in an AEC industry with a working knowledge of all
aspects of professional services from planning and schematic design through project close-out.
Design and technical expertise is preferred. 5 years of experience in the project-specific, BIM
workflow from start to finish.
Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational skills, training
design and delivery experience. Expert knowledge of, and proven practical background in,
Autodesk Revit Architecture and related BIM software. Knowledge of the Revit API is preferred.
Solid understanding of Navisworks and Revit applications and best practices. Familiarity with
design applications such as Rhino, VRay, 3D Studio Max, Sketch up, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.
are a plus. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, enthusiastic and flexible.
Primary responsibilities will include:
Management and Strategy
Assist project teams with BIM project execution planning at project kickoff and project
milestones.
Manage and mentor project BIM Leads.
Advise and help define Level of Development/Detail for deliverables.
Author and implement standard workflows and processes.
Identify and assist in creating content to enhance our digital asset and detail libraries,
including custom content creation for project teams.
Evangelize, educate and support primary design and BIM applications.
Champion the 'I' in BIM to leverage data collection and query for purposes of design
intelligence, optimization, automation, simulation and downstream exploration for artificial
intelligence. Continuously raise the bar in inclusion and utilization of metadata.
Be responsible for the ongoing reliability and dependability of all BIM projects in their
studio/office.
Perform regular model audits. Conduct quality control model reviews with project teams.
Work with consultants for the best interoperability between architect and consultant models.
Create software deployment packages and manage software licensing and cloud
collaboration platforms.
Establish and track metrics on major technology initiatives, software utilization, and ROI.
Training
Design and deliver educational offerings ranging from essentials to advanced use of Revit at
HMC.
Enhance training material and datasets to encompass both HMC design philosophy and the
new landscape of information modelling.
Research and Development
Lead and/or participate in various technology related R+D effort and special projects.
Identify and track technologies and software applications relevant to the firms mission.
Conduct hands on evaluations of software, plug-ins, utilities, and web resources.
Engage with management and project teams to test and refine new processes and
deliverables.
