Job Description

Description: The Azure Integration Engineer will join the Chubb Claims IT team which focuses on mission critical applications that support claim adjusters and other claim professionals in Chubb's Claims Department, world-renowned for outstanding customer service. As the Azure Integration Engineer, you will play a key role to scale our Data applications and infrastructure to expand our proprietary Analytics and Business Intelligence capabilities. You will work closely with our Cloud based Data Lake solution and application teams to build out our platform and provide tooling to empower our internal customers. Your ability to seek complex challenges and collaborate in a team environment will mean you have an immediate impact. This position will require a high degree of collaboration and detailed communication within and across multiple teams working closely with business, IT architecture and outsourced technical teams. Responsibilities Include:

* Design, develop, and support our Data applications and infrastructure utilizing various technologies to process large volumes of data, including Microsoft Azure, SQL Data Warehouse, Informatica IICS, Databricks
* Build competency in MS Azure Data lake, Azure Integration Services and Analytics with emphasis on application side
* Create solutions and environments to enable Analytics and Business Intelligence capabilities
* Partner with the Analytics, Modeling and Claims business organizations to get feedback and iterate the development of our Azure Data Lake platform
* Research trends and emerging technologies in the Cloud and Data spaces, participate in user communities, and share learnings with internal teams
* Plan and coordinate Analytics focused development efforts with Business Partners, Project Managers, Architecture Teams and Developers
* Provide leadership & direction to development teams consisting of both on and offshore developers
* Develop high/low level designs and technical specifications that can be accurately executed by team members including offshore outsourced resources.
* Provide hands-on design, development and testing for complex work.
* Lead and implement assignments independently as a hands-on expert by providing technical and business expertise on key projects and enhancements
* Gather and analyze business and technical requirements and recommend solutions to meet functional requirements to support business needs
* Work with business partners, other technical teams and architects to develop strategic, cost-effective solutions to meet business needs and ensure programs meet standards and technical specifications
* Accountable to size / estimate work, establish plans for execution and conduct/facilitate design and solution reviews
* Effectively communicate project status and assist Project Managers in the timely and accurate measurement of overall project health
* Identify and quantify risks; make recommendations for risk mitigation and contingency plans
* Assist with issue identification, tracking and resolution
* Responsible for ensuring adherence of all deliverables to appropriate standards and quality levels
* Troubleshoot and support production processes to meet daily SLA's

Technical Skills / Experience:

* Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or similar technical degree, or equivalent Information Technology work experience
* Minimum 5 years of experience in Information Technology with a focus on application delivery involving complex data processing systems
* Experience architecting, developing and delivering Integration Solutions on Microsoft Azure Platform including workflow, orchestration, and API's
* Knowledge of Microsoft Azure platform using software for Analytics such as Analytical Services, Azure Data Lake, SQL Data Warehouse, Databricks, or IICS
* Solid experience with Azure Architecture and Integration Services
* Solid experience in recommending Capacity / Sizing options on Azure Platform
* Hands-on experience in delivering solutions on MS Azure Platform
* Experience working with various types of data - structured, unstructured, semi-structured and relational
* Experience with developing end-to-end data pipelines in large cloud-compute infrastructure solutions such Microsoft Azure
* Experience working with large data volumes and complex systems.
* Proficient in learning new technologies with the ability to quickly understand capabilities and work with others to guide these into development
* Problem solving and multitasking ability in a fast-paced, distributed environment
* Strong communication skills, including the ability to work with business partners to understand and refine requirements
