Job Description

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering the implementation of Agile Project Management within the Allied World IT Department. This role will not only manage the Agile Process, but will take a wider view of the various work streams and project requests coming into the PMO and provide input to the approach in managing these requests. The role will also support various work streams as required. The successful candidate for this role will be an experienced SCRUM Master and Agile Project Manager with an entrepreneurial spirit, able to challenge the status quo, and pro-actively provide alternative solutions.

Job Duties:

Planning and Management

* Facilitate/participate in Scrum ceremonies and rituals

* Monitor and Report on key agile metrics and status of initiatives to leadership

* Participate and support in the project intake process

* Manage the projects in Jira and confluence; providing training to the team in these tools as needed

* Work closely with the Product Owner in managing expectations for deliverables and managing stakeholder communications

Team Building & Management

* Promote empowerment of the team, ensuring engagement ad a sustainable place, and high levels of quality

* Assist with mentoring team members in agile practices

* Coach the team members as needed, and resolve roadblocks raised by the team

Process Management

* Support and provide input into the Allied World Agile practice, working alongside key stakeholders to implement improvements
* University Degree
* PMI-ACP, Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent
* Significant experience working in and Agile Project Manager or Scrum Master role
* Experience using agile performance Metrics to drive accountability and continuous improvement
* Solid Understanding of and demonstrated experience of using appropriate tools such as (but not limited to):
* Agile Project Management tools such as Jira or equivalent
* Visio and all Office tools
* Some previous experiences within the insurance industry (life or GI)
* Ability to work independently, using one's own initiative
* Ability to interact with credibility across all levels of staff and management
* A self-started, proactive attitude with a highly collaborative approach
* Results driven
* Effective communicator, both written and verbal
* Strength in conflict resolution with superior negotiation skills
