Job Description

An Avionics Team Leader job in Torrance, CA is currently available through Belcan. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the strategic and tactical direction for the Avionics Programs, including architecture, design, implementation, and full hardware/software development lifecycle. To be considered for this role, you will have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Systems, Electrical, or Software Engineering plus 10 years of experience; and hardware, software, and mechanical experience with a strong background in avionics development. Due to the nature of work performed at this facility, you must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a security clearance.

Avionics Team Leader Job duties:

* Hire, develop and manage a team that will work closely with customers and cross-functional teams to derive requirements, architect, design, implement and test hardware/software systems using Integrity, Linux, VxWorks, and other operating systems. In addition to assisting with hardware design the team will also define and develop the OS BSP/drivers and middleware
* Provide and support technical liaison between customers, engineering, and other non-engineering functional groups
* Will lead multiple avionics projects and help architect new systems
* Lead/mentor team in completing their assignments, and coordinate assignments with other project team members

Qualifications:

* Avionics experience is required
* Knowledge of reliability, testability, DO178 and DO254; experience with DOORS, Greenhills, RTOS, ARINC 661, V22, displays, and maps is desired
* Flight management systems, flight control computer
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must be able to support BD and interface with customers, make presentations, come up with new ideas and provide out-of-the-box solutions
