Job Description

Currently, RG is seeking an Avaya Systems Programmer to support a premier telecom client in Washington DC. The work would be onsite in D.C. and would support an environment of over 500 sites and 45,000 users.

A Day in the Life:

To help make our customer successful, the chosen candidate will be able to:

* Work in a central location on the design, programming, and testing of "staged" communications systems for subsequent field deployment
* Develop repeatable processes for efficient deployment of same/similar systems for multiple locations, while customizing to the individual requirements of each site
* Analyze customer's communications needs & develop software solutions to improve overall communication
* Convert those needs to resolution via the software capabilities of the overall solution designed by the customer and implementation team
* Provide clear concise software plans to the project team, including the customer, to allow for implementation
* Explain options to the customer
* Effectively communicate & work with the project team to implement and test the solution in a staging environment
* Work at the direction of the Project/Program Manager to meet & follow up with the deployment team and end user client, as required

The Avaya Systems Programmer will be responsible for designing & implementing test routines to insure function of the software features prior to system release. The candidate must be skilled with Avaya CM (6.x/7.x), System Manager, Session Manager, Aura Messaging and other current solution Platforms.

Required Skills

A Consultant is an exempt customer-facing business professional that provides a variety of information directly to customers for their ongoing programs, new initiatives, strategic planning, and measurement/evaluation in one or more of RG's solutions. They possess excellent customer service skills, remain current on industry trends, value team work, and have a wide range of interpersonal skills.

Required Experience

To be successful in this role, all candidates must meet the below qualifications to be considered.

* Current Top Secret clearance or within the window to reactivate
* 5 years software experience supporting Avaya, NORTEL product line
* Experienced in implementing Avaya CM (6.x/7.x), System Manager, Session Manager, Aura Messaging, SIP, VoIP, etc
* Knowledge of the Avaya, NORTEL product lines and applications
* Extensive experience using Avaya Provision for system programming
* Ability to travel to dispersed client sites, (minimally required)
