We are currently seeking an Audiovisual (AV) Engineer to support our Justice Programs in Washington, DC. As the AV Engineer, you will support the Engineering and Installation Team by installing, troubleshooting and maintaining AV systems for defined single- and multi-room areas as well as for single and multiple sites.

Responsibilities for the AV Engineer include, but are not limited to:

* Installing and supporting AV systems, including familiarity with foundation technologies, networking, server, operating systems, and terminology.
* Provides advanced functional guidance and capabilities in the completion of a wide range of audiovisual tasks including: video conferencing, hardware installations, system testing and end-user training
* Perform site surveys in support of AV system installations.
* Coordinate and perform on-site assessments of existing AV systems to verify proper configuration and operational integrity
* Troubleshoot AV systems and provide support for continuous operation of AV systems as required.
* Provide regular equipment recommendations for upgrades and maintenance
* Manage operational aspects of assigned installs
* Properly document all issues regarding assigned VTC equipment via internal Service Manager ticketing system
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* A strong sense of urgency in solving customer requests to ensure timely resolution
* Ability to interface effectively and professionally with team personnel, government customers and management.
* Review, update, and manage information in standard repositories. Information repositories may include, but are not limited to, property management, standard product lists, and SharePoint lists.

Functional Responsibility: Will be expected to interact periodically with executives/VIP's to execute priority VTC tasks and requirements. Analyzes local and wide area network systems, including planning, designing, evaluating, selecting, and upgrading operating systems and protocol suites and configuring communication media with concentrators, bridges, and other devices; resolves interoperability problems to obtain operations across all platforms including email, file transfer, multimedia, teleconferencing, and the like; configures systems to user requirements; supports the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed; performs various tests and documents results; administers and maintains local and wide area networks; provides technical support and troubleshooting to users; plans network layout design; may administer network security; may perform database administration; may provide guidance and training to lower level personnel and serve as technical team or task lead.

Qualifications

Minimum/General Experience: Must have at least 5+ years of directly related experience in help desk, network, and/or AV support. Also requires thorough knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in network troubleshooting and support as well as modems, data scopes, patch panels, concentrators, associated terminals, and network management software. Knowledge of Creston is preferred.
