Support Ticketing Systems. Support ticketing and automation systems at asphalt and aggregate plants across the company.

What You'll Do:

Plan and Analyze Projects. Assist in developing detailed project plans for deploying technology to the field. Assist in developing detailed project cost estimates and financial evaluations/justifications for new technology projects. Analyze projects (post audit) to determine actual costs and benefits. Document the project to management as necessary.

Install Automation. Assist with installation, overseeing Vulcan and outside resources. Provide installation project plan/requirements to the end user. Follow up with the end user to assess their status and any problems during the installation. Review results with the end user to ensure all requirements are met.

Support Sites. Visit sites to maintain working relationships and train plant operators on ticketing and controls software. Specialize in supporting plants with more complex ticketing and automation setups, such as asphalt batch plants, silo loadout systems, kiosk automation, loader notification systems, and trucking related interfaces.

Develop Relationships. Maintain positive working relationships with plant personnel, area and regional operations management, engineering, SHE, and other operations related personnel across the company.

Train. Present end user training programs to support the fielding of development projects and to meet enterprise standards. Provide technology updates to the business, identifying the costs and benefits. Evaluate training needs and training materials available. Recommend training alternatives.

Skills You'll Need:

Education. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline strongly preferred.

Experience. 3-5 years of experience in application support, automation support, or software interface development, preferably in the construction industry.

Project Management Skills. Must have excellent project management skills, including tracking, objectives, scheduling, and budgeting. Must have the ability to coordinate services, technology vendors, and operational personnel.

Technical Skills. Must have strong computer skills, including some programming and database experience.

Interpersonal Skills. Must have strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop effective working relations with end users and IT Shared Services. Must have good written and verbal communication skills.

Analytical Skills. Must have strong analytical skills with the ability to plan, estimate, coordinate projects, and set priorities to achieve quality results.

Functional Knowledge. Must have the ability to assimilate the processes for various types of silo loadout and batch plant operations. Mechanical aptitude and fabrication experience is strongly preferred. An understanding of basic electrical practices with the ability to dialogue technically with plant electricians is preferred.
