JOB SUMMARY

Support the selection, design, and implementation of critical components of technology to support Marriott International's Property Management System strategy. This role will assist in integrating and advancing our Property Management Systems initiatives in alignment with our core business objectives and technical architecture.

This is an entry-level technical role. Resolves and makes decisions on routine requests with limited risk. Performs research, analysis, design, creation and implementation of applications to meet current and future user requirements. Supports the definition and creation of the next generation of solutions to drive Marriott value. Receives work direction from senior technical leaders to deliver projects to successful completion, maintaining scope within the time and budget constraints. Provides innovative and creative insights to solutions.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

Required:

* 0-5 years' experience in installing, configuring, or working with Oracle's OPERA Property Management System (PMS)
* Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience/certification

Preferred:

* Formal/informal experience configuring OPERA for installation at/on Marriott properties
* Exposure/experience troubleshooting technical issues with OPERA connectivity to Marriott Enterprise Applications (e.g. MARSHA, SGI)
* Experience in testing OPERA base functionality for approval of Oracle patch sets and interim patches
* Knowledge of/experience with OPERA back-end processing, including export files
* Experience with Marriott's Automated Reservation System for Hotel Accommodations (MARSHA)
* Knowledge of financial reporting and payment processing in the MI OPERA configuration
* General understanding of hotel operations, including areas such as Housekeeping, Sales & Catering
* Knowledge of 3rd party applications that interface with OPERA (e.g. MerchantLink, Delphi, CI/TY)

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

* Performs quantitative and qualitative analyses for OPERA projects or projects where OPERA is a component
* Delivers assigned projects as expected
* Participates in requirements and code reviews
* Complies with defined development and business case processes
* Coordinates with appropriate IT and vendor relations teams as assigned
* May provide consultation for routine systems development or requirements development
* Coordinates with Global Operations and Infrastructure teams for deployment and production support activities

IT Governance

* Follows all defined IT standards and processes (i.e. IT Governance, SM&G, Architecture, SDLC, etc.), and provides input for improvements to the appropriate process owners as needed
* Maintains a proper balance between business and operational risk
* Follows the defined project management standards and processes

Service Provider Management

* May provide input to estimates of work effort
* Assists in facilitation of timely resolution of service delivery problems to minimize the impact to clients
