Job Description:

The NISC III program at Leidos is looking for individuals with depth and breadth of Airport Surveillance Radar (ASR) ground-based and satellite-based Air Traffic Control (ATC) surveillance systems to support various customer-driven efforts.

Specific initiatives could include:

Air Traffic Control Tower (ATCT)/Terminal Radar Approach Control (TRACON) Modernization Effort

ASR-9 Service Life Extension Program (SLEP)

Digital Remote SCIP Replacement (DRSR)

Transmitter Backplane Replacement

Automatic Dependent Surveillance - Broadcast (ADS-B) to En Route Automation Modernization (ERAM) Activities, or Software Applications.

As a subject matter expert in ASR systems, the successful candidate will visit various radar sites to observe the state of the systems and perform engineering research and provide technical support to extend the service life of ASR systems.

This work will include research or testing national modifications and technology used to replace end of life components.

The successful candidate may also write white papers, change documents, reports, and technical procedures for the ASR systems.

Other responsibilities will likely include providing memos or briefings on technical options and solutions associated with replacing components in the NAS.

Note: Position may allow the selected employee to work remotely at the the hiring managers discretion.

TYPICAL EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

* Typically requires BS and 4 - 8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2 - 6 years of prior relevant experience.

Qualifications:

* Experience with ASR systems
* Ability to travel
* Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

Desired experience:

* Experience working with the FAA
* Experience specifically with the ASR-9
